Not sure how long you're kitten-sitting for but when the boys were kittens and started to get 'bitey' I blew in their faces - worked a treat as it distracted them enough to stop them in their tracks but didn't frighten them or associate me with anything negative.

I tried that when my Benglies were babies - all I got for my trouble was a hook right accross my nose from Mellika and a look that said "How dare you blow my face!!)

Tried it......he carrys on biting but screws his face up more!   I've started pushing him away as soon as he starts and it is beginning to show some progress. He gets carried away at times but the attacks have lessened today!  Only 3 more days to go!  :yesss:

Oh yes, I'm now quite sure that Robbie would take to another cat but probably one that is more his own age and certainly not a young kitten - prior to the weekend I was fairly certain now it is much more definite!    I'm sure it would do him good having a cat companion as well.

I haven't had this many scratches and bites since I had my own hellion kitten several years ago. I'm sure this one has a screw loose somewhere as it is totally mad.  It not only chases its tail but sinks its teeth in then jumps because it hurts....then does it all again 30seconds later.  And this will go on for quite some time unless you distract him.  Fortunately Da Mouse has proved very popular with him.

First I saw the part Bengal kitten and I was :drool;, then I saw Robbie peeping in the background and I was double :drool; then Mr Ginger has sent me into a triple :drool;  :evillaugh:

Glad it's gone fairly well with the kitten and Robbie - bodes well for any future introductions should you ever decide to adopt another little friend for him

:Luv2: very cute! But im with you on the no thanks list  :evillaugh: kittens in general are not a favourite of mine. I see robbie has his own ideas anyway, a sensible adult cat who wont pounce on his tail all day long.

Sorry to moan :innocent: but is little ones collar a safety one? If not please try to educate his owners, i hear of yet another wasted life due to elasticated collars, they are a strangulation and hanging risk  :(

My word, do they never stop running round?  It's like a wind up toy without an off switch.   Only 10 weeks old but a little demon and certainly doesn't think twice about clawing its way up my leg, just because it is there!  I do feel sorry for the other cat in the household who doesn't seem to like other cats and certainly doesn't like this little spitfire charging him.  I'm sure the kitten would benefit much more by having another one in the house - the family works full time so it is alone from 8ish to 5.30pm on weekdays with the other cat being outside out of his way!  It's also not on full adult food which I'm sure can't be good for it and it certainly uses the litter tray an awful lot and makes smells!

Brought him round to ours today for some socialising, partly because I was curious as to whether Robbie would take to him and partly because I felt so sorry for him being alone in the house.  Robbie was fascinated but completely laid back about the little interloper (and slightly scared as kitten was quite aggressive at times).  I have to admit to laughing when this little scrap of a thing chased Robbie (who is at least three times his size) round the living room twice and up the stairs!

It has made me decide one thing....a Bengal is never going to be high on my list of cats I want (as beautiful as they are!).  I almost took in one of this kitten's siblings earlier in the week as its owners had split up. Fortunately one of them kept it as it would have been completely the wrong energy for Robbie.

Robbie has now taken an interest in a ginger tom that comes round.  Can't decide whether it's a stray or not.  He has only recently started properly hanging round the house, but only during the day (never before 10.30am or after 6pm and only then because he now knows he will get a regular meal) but he does look uncared for.  He's been around for a while but recently seems to have lost weight (trying to rectify that and he can happily eat 2 sachets no matter what time of day I feed him).  He won't let me near him and is very cautious though.  Could do with catching him and getting him to a vet to see if he is chipped or if he has health problems (thinking he has a gammy eye and maybe teeth issues as has a brown mark on bottom lip) but not going to happen at the moment until he gets more confident.  Both him and Robbie were eating off the same plate today....I tell you, Robbie has really expensive food that he loves but turns his nose up at it to eat Pets At Home cheap stuff!  Cats!
