Glad they are both neutered, it will take a couple of weeks for their hormones to settle down though.
Please spay your cat

both spayed and chipped, cat tree on its way as are personalised collars (indoor cats, but better safe than sorry)

Ava has settled down, even in such a short space of time, and is coming up for cuddles, no hissing or growling.

Bunnies have lent them their snuggle safes for the time being, just so they have something warm to cuddle up to and get some relief from.

Plan seems to be coming together!  Just need Ava to get OH on side now!  Evie did her bot last night.  I brought her up stairs as the were scrapping, and Evie just cried to be let back down with her mum!!

They are really sweet girls  :Luv2:

Can't agree with the pregnant spay...sorry...but thats my opinion and i'm intitled to it.

I didn't expect everyone to agree, or be so undertanding to my decision.  It was not an easy decision to make.

Sorry didnt mean to sound so hard

Well done for giving these two a chance; Ava will probably be relieved not to be a baby machine after the spay. (Her body definitely will.) Let us know how her and Evie go at the vets. :)

Glad the visit went well, and the vet is happy to spay both. Dont know about your RSPCA, but mine are doing a deal on microchipping at the moment, it is £10 (which is half of what my vet charges) - so it might be worth checking prices on that.
Please spay your cat

Glad the vet visit went well.  It is sad that she will lose the kittens but I agree it is best in the long run  :'(

yeah, it does make sense. It will be interesting to see what the vet says, but they might be more willing in light of the fact she has had previous litters (although 4 in 5 years isn't as bad as it could be) and her age

I know what you mean, Oldham Cats are full at the minute, I have got in about 3 months early, if my vets are unwilling to do it, as she looks late on to me, but the vet will confirm. does that make sense?

Thank you for your understanding, it was a difficult decision to make, but as this is her 4 litter, and there are many more cats looking for homes in rescues, I do think this the the best option for the cat

Good luck with the vet visit today, I would get some kitten food for both of them, and it would be better all round if both cats could be spayed, while it isn't a pleasant thought, there are a lot of kittens around (think we still have about 20, and that is just the up to 3mo ones, we have more if you include the 4-6mo's, i dont know what Oldham Cats are like, as I said I haven't spoken to them for a while).

You need as much info about the one having kittens as possible including an emergency number if there are probs.

Need to know what signs that she may have just before birthing starts.

You need to know about making places for her to nest in and have the kittens....how long delivery takes, how you know when its over, what happens if the kittens dont feed or one is born with a problem and she rejects it. How you feed any rejected kitten and what with, how long etc etc

The other one you need to know age, weight, what her weight should be, fleaing and worming for both.........may not be possible for the other one at moment, spaying , vaccinations.

Any medical probs with either.........I hope they are both healthy  ;D

all the things you feel you are not sure about and then we can possible help you withb things that you then think of. Tell the vet you are new to cats so need as much info as possible.

Hope the vet trip goes well

They are mine,(I think, I only say that as I was looking for one, and was thinking of rehoming Eva, once everything is over, both now here OH thinks she is cute)  I have spoken to the vet about an spay for Ava as well as Evie.  My personal thought are there are far too many unwanted cats out there.  I know some one you might not agree with the methods, but we will see what the vets say.  I have a feeling she may be too far gone, in which case they have places lined up with Oldham Cat's cat rescue.  All cats involved will be spayed ASAP.

What sort of questions should I be asking?  Never took cats before!?!?

I can feel Duchas spine too and think your supposed to be able to feel parts of their bones and the also should have a neck and maybe a waist LOL.

My Sasa is a rugby ball on legs and always has been but then she is a tortie and many are a bit rigbyball shaped.

I am sure your vert will weigh them and give you loads of advise but I would  make a list of things to ask tonight because brains have a habbit of dying when one gets to the vet.

Are these two fosters or yours?  If the latter what is going to happen with the kittens?

You can feel Evies spine she is that thin.

Ava, is just not up to touching yet, so will make the vets trip rather fun, I need to get her in the carrier.  I have a chicken breast ;)  She looks huge, never seen a pregnant cat before.  I was tod she was around the 32 day mark, which doesn't ring true, but looking on internet sites she should have a low hanging belly, and look like a rugby ball on legs

They no doubt have fleas, make sure you buy a household spray in the morning too.
I hope they get a clean bill of health other than the external issues you can see

Oh My word I have never seen such bony cats!

Evie is so small!  She has almost constantly groomed since getting here. but seems to be settling in well (even in an hour).  Seems to be scratching and nibbling too.  Got me at it now.  She has bald patches on her neck too (Fleas? mites?)  Her face looks soo young, like that of  a 6 month old not a 2 yr old.

Ava, oh my word, if she is 32 days in to pregnancy Im a monkeys uncle!!  Again she is a very slight cat, with this HUGE belly on her, she has not taking to us as yet and has had a good hiss at us and Evie.  Wonder if it is hormone related.  Cant get close enough to have a good look, but she has bald patches on her tail.

Vets at 10.10 tomorrow morning :)
