No tips I'm afraid, its not something I've ever had to do for a cat. Bit much that the vet didnt do it while you were there.

My vet told me to give Max 10mls luke warm water in a syringe up his bum and then later on if no joy, try 2mls liquid paraffin up his bum. I'm not charmed as we were there this morning and he didn't do it and now of course it's saturday and they are closed.

We did do it - got about 9mls up with a 1ml little syringe and some liquid paraffin, but didn't have much result.  Max didn't resist and is now sleeping. He has had 2mls lactulose too, which I hope will work tonight. He vomited twice from straining and going to the tray every 5 mins, straining and nothing coming out.

The 'enema' we did caused just some brown liquid (and - sorry ) and he did a big fart and he is now resting so we may have either exhausted him or the pressure has eased a bit.

I am angry at being asked to do it, but does anyone have any tips please?
