Small problem with Oscar

Oh bless him, hes just confused!
The cleaning is important as he will go by smell, a deterrent spray wont sort the scent tag he has left. Bio washing solution or simple solution from pets at home will sort that.
I would also try a finer litter, he may like that more

He's only 7 weeks old.  He does use the litter tray most of the time its just a few times that he does it in the corner by the back door. He's not spraying. He's actually squatting and doing a full pee. I'm using a woodbased cat litter in the trays and when I look there is little mounds where he's peed before.

How old is he?
Spraying at doorways/on doormats is typical behaviour from cats concerned about visitors, is there any one out there who could be taunting him?

Yes you ned to clean the area thoroughly with a ..........crumbs, I think its a biological washing powder.....hope some one corrects me if I wrong........and then use surgical spirit or something like the stuff from PAH that ids for this purpose.

You must avoid anything with amonia in, like bleach cos that will attract him back to the same area.

How many litter trays do you have, at lewast two should be the answer. 

Thats the spray I was on about    I have 2 trays. 1 upstairs in the bathroom which he uses when he's upstairs and 1 in the kitchen. They're both hooded trays and he uses them. I'm thinking of getting a normal tray for that corner once its been cleaned thoroughly. The door has a big step over so a tray will sit there and not have to be moved to open the door.

Although he uses the litter tray for his solids and some of his liquid waste, there has been a few incidents of him peeing by the back door. Even though the litter tray is nearer the kitchen door than the back door and he has to walk past it to get to the back door. I'm going to get a spray to spray round the back door to deter him at the weekend. Does anyone have any tips other than the spray?

The only thing I can think of is that he sees the dog and Magnum going out to the toilet and thinks that thats what he has to do.
