The Celia Hammond Animal Trust have recently rescued 52 Persian cats from one home after their owners were being repossessed.

Many of the cats had very matted coats but have now all been de-matted, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They are a wide range of ages, some are quite shy but others are friendly.

They are seeking homes in pairs and require owners who will be able to cope with the daily grooming that Persian cats coats require. The cats have never been outdoors and are suitable for indoor only homes but homes with gardens could be considered provided the cats were kept indoors for a long time initially.

The cats are being cared for at C.H.A.T's Sanctuary near Hastings in East Sussex. Offers of homes will be considered in Kent, Sussex and London areas.

Please contact the Sanctuary on 01424 882198 or brede@celiahammond.org

or visit the website at www.celiahammond.org <http://www.celiahammond.org>

We have had limited publicity with local newspapers in appealing for homes, we have also got an appeal up via vets waiting rooms but are not receiving much interest in these cats, any help you give would be much appreciated. The Sanctuary was already very full and just keeping these cats coats groomed is very very time consuming for our staff and volunteers on top of all the other moggies who need caring for, so finding them good new homes is a priority.

Update:

There is now a Cat Chat Homing Page for these guys, so you can see more of them individually.
Here: Celia Hammond Sanctuary Persian Rescue http://www.catchat.org/chatsanct/cgibin/prtoc.cgi

It should be stressed that many of them are nervous and would not suit a home with children. They will also need daily grooming!

A few of the cats have found homes already, which is great, but still the majority are yet to find homes. 52 cats is a lot for this sanctuary, and is putting great pressure on the staff and resources, so good homes needed as soon as poss!!

Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.
