I am so delighted, I know it sounds a bit slushy but I miss her terribly, there's never a day goes by when I don't think about her and having this beautiful picture on the wall is a bit like her "coming back home"
Yes, I think it is in the eyes, Gillian has captured them wonderfully, I really love the velour paper she uses, a great texture and the gilt edging to the mounting looks great. I have chosen a simple dark wood frame, sort of walnut/mahogony with a little gold engraved plaque. A small but important note on packing, Gillian did a super job on protecting the painting always a concern with entrusting something as "priceless" as this to the tender mercies of our postal system!.
Clare hun, that sounds like a terrific idea, you know you are both very welcome any time and we could pop out or I could cook something if it was a weekend. I know you'll be every bit as thrilled with Maxy's portrait, hugs to the big fella from me.
The boys are very happy in their new home and as entertaining as always, I regret not having more time of late, but will be back more regularly when this project's finished.
Kind regards to all
Leigh
