I phoned and apologised for snapping at the VN today. Still doesn't take away the fact that they were being unprofessional. I shall burn my bridges when I have a new vet sorted out  :evillaugh: - I have lost some faith in them. First there was the fiasco over the pills, then telling me to turn up at 9am for Willow's  bllod & x-rays then when I got ther, them telling me I was far too early and sure they would have told me 11am for her to be there all day. Now this. I know they are under pressure but I (and others) think they are short-handed so mistakes creep in (can't go into detail but there was allegedy  :shify: a misdiagnosis issue which could have caused an unnecessary amputation )

It turns out not only my vet but the very capable practice manager are away. I will phone next week and like you said, tell them I was having a bad day. I wasn't rude to them I just pointed out that I was expecting a call 2 days before. I appreciate they are bus being one vet down but a call wouldn't have been a bad idea. I had planned to phone them today anyway but with all the pigeon business I am way behind and also have a homecheck to do at 6pm

It is a hard one Mark,  I wouldnt be able to find another vet within reasonable travel and as you pointed out there will be extra costs if you move,  £25 a month adds up V V quickly.  I would phone them back and explain that you were upset about having to deal with the pigeons and see if they can come out.  xxx

its a tricky one Mark - depends how easy it is to find another vet you like - with me I don't really have any choice without travelling

Vet - am I being unreasonable

Last Friday, I was in the vet picking up some tablets and asked for a home visit for Clapton. She said Tuesday was the earliest so I said that was fine. She asked me to phone late morning on the day to conform the time - which btw I think is annoying as surely they should phone the customer?

Anyway, as requested, I phoned around 12pm on Tuesday and asked what time the vet would be round. I asked who it was and she said my usual vet was on a course so it would either be the owner which would be fine or the woman vet who I have specifically told them I don't want anywhere near my cats (I wasn't happy with the way she was with Clapton, he is a timid cat, not a labrador  >:( ) - she said it could be the owner but he had a lot of horse appointments that day but would phone me later - I said if it went to Wednesday, I'm sure that would be fine - she said he would phone me anyway. I didn't get a call that day or Wednesday. I was outside in the alley about an hour ago cleaning up dead pigeon etc and heard the phone ring in the house. I ran in and there was a message from the vet receptionist saying the owner wanted to come over and I was to phone them within 20 minutes. I phoned back and told them to forget it as he was supposed to call me 2 days ago. I am wondering if I have shot off my own foot as it means if I go to a new vet, I will have to pay double for Clapton & Willow's Fortekor (£50 a month instead of £25) - it isn't the first time they have peed me off lately. One thing is the fact that they have 3 surgery dogs running around in there.

Am I overreacting - I admit I am upset about the pigeons but also sick of being walked over by people  >:(
