Aye, I have a Holland and Barrat, will try and visit it next week - do you ever have probs with them not eating food with it in? Do you think it would be OK to give my two oldies as well?

No, not had any probs with acceptance, but I do mix it well in once I've squirted it! Its especially good for oldies -I  give it to all my old timers!

just had a quick squint online for you and i get the impression viacutan is still the superior one on the market, its made by     
Boehringer but i didnt see masses of info (i may not have looked properly) and when i was working there used to be very good little leaflets on it.

Desley, as far as i know even vegetable oil can help dandruffy problem but you can get things like gammalac oil and viacutan (which is really good) and i am sure newer combinations now aswell that i do not know about,  I cant remember the exact oil make up or if they would be better / worse than just fish oil but i do know they are good.

Tiger is losing a lot of fur at the moment, so hard to tell what condition it is in, Molly's fur looks nice, but she does have constipation issues.

Also, body oils are better then liver oil.
I also use the capsules, i can imagine the mess id make with a bottle!

I buy my salmon oil from Holland and Barrat Desley, don't know if you've got one near your? They come in 1000mg capsules which I just pierce with a pin and squeeze out the oil. Think I pay about 9.99. I like the capsules because I don't think they go rancid so quickly becuase of being in individual capsules.

Salmon oil from Salmopet contents fatty acids which is part of dogs and cats different physiological processes. Omega 3-acids is among others important for the quality of skin and fur.
Recommended dose for dogs and cats
Under 5 kg    2,5 ml (ca 1/2 teaspoon)
5-15 kg    5 ml (ca 1 teaspoon)
15-30 kg    10 ml (ca 2 teaspoons)
over 30 kg    15 ml (ca 3 teaspoons)
Keeps until 18 months from production date when unopened and 3 months when opened. Keep in room temerature and darkness.

I get the impression fromthe name it's for Pets rather than just dogs ... it's just that it's for sale on a doggie site.  I can't find anything for cats but will keep searching

Just read that fish or salmon oil is good for cats with dandruff - as Lucy can't clean herself, she has terrible dandruff, and while I am trying to wipe her daily, it obviously isn't the same (and i think I may have to change from baby wipes to wet flannels), so thought I would try this - just have no idea where to buy them from, so if anyone can tell me some places, or brand names, i would be very grateful. Every foster that comes in gets dandruff, dont konw why, but I suppose it is understandable for the cats who have been living rough to then have a nice central heated room.
