Tigar is one of out 'golden oldies' being fostered by Jill. He hates being cooped up but everytime Jill lets him out , he goes across the allotments and over the road to a local pub. He has been featured before in the local paper blog and news.
http://cv5.coventrytelegraph.net/2009/01/jill-etherington-is-a-foster.htmlJill has been battling with a cat flu virus for the last month (even though all the cats are innoculated) and Tigar has been treated (along with several others) for this, but when he slips out (which he is very good at doing) ,he goes to his old haunt.
Since this article was published the pub has been taken over and the new people do not like the cat hanging around even though all they have to do is phone Jill up and she goes and fetches him. She even just turns up in the evening if he's out and its got to the point he would wait for her on the path by the car park.
Anyway, yesterday a customer at the pub took a box from the pub , bundled him in in and took him to pdsa/vets now. this woman was heard to be wittering on about how his owner obviously could not take care of the cat and how thin he was.
Now it all gets a bit hazy, depending on who you speak to.......so far the story goes.... it was 5 past 6 and pdsa were going home and told the lady to wait for the vets now vet. The cat was said to be in good health and scanned for a chip which he has and they advised the woman to put him back.
The pdsa despite saying they did not deal with the cat, say the chip details did not match Jills - very suprising as Jill microchips the cats after going on a course for us and also when he went missing last time for a few weeks was reunited by the rspca because of the chip. (plus if they didn't deal , how do they know the chip details were 'incorrect'). When I asked the pdsa how would the cat be paid for , they said that vets now looked at all stray cats for free (!
). (Note to self - take in all cats as strays
)
Vets now last night told Jill it was the pdsa's responsibility as they had booked him in.
As well as the chip he has a tag saying 'I'm chipped' and an essay in his collar (after the rspca excursion) saying that he is old and does wander with Jll's address and phone number.
Neither the pdsa or vets now took the womans details and as far as we know Tigar has not 'been put back' so at the moment he is officially missing.....
Jill is going up the wall.
We are going to go round to the pub at 1-30, have the telegraph on board to do an article about him and I have already spoken to the pdsa and told them we will be there just before 6 this evening so that we can get the story straight while both the pdsa and vets now are there as opposed to them both passing the buck.
Any other things we can do?
