Think you are right you certainly get what you pay for with metalcote. I'll save up a bit more then! Thanks Rx

Theres a few on here
http://www.k9capers.com/shop/products.asp?cat=218
personally i like metal cotes better as the metal is thicker,i know a cat who busted the stick on the above links style of basket
Can also vouch on the service of metalcote, i had one slightly bent cage delivered, it wasnt a huge dent but being a crush cage the slidey door wasnt as smooth as you need it to be so i had a very prompt after sales service experience.

The vets are pretty good and do sometimes let us have cat baskets, but I want some really strong ones that are going to last. The plastic ones tend to get broken after a while. Thanks though I'll check on Ebay.

It's worth asking at your vets. Often they have baskets left at vets when cats are PTS
and often they sell them on. Also maybe check ebat

Does anyone know of some cheapish wire/metal cat baskets? I've looked on metalcotes site, but I seem to think there was another online shop that did a similar product but a bit cheaper. Thanks guys, I know you lot will know!!!
