The Cats Best Oko plus trial begins tonight

I bought a 10 litre bag from PAH and was sure it wouldn't fill one large hooded tray, was pleasantly surprised when it seemed to expand as it came out the bag and the tray is filled virtually to the top. The second tray is the 'control tray' of chick crumb so we'll see what; lasts longer, smells better, causes less dust and tracks less - whichever one that is will be crowned king of cat litters and I promise never to deviate from it again

I've tried dozens of litters over this year (wood pellets - the very worst and never, ever again!! - Golden Grey, Catsan, PAH Brand and Cats Best) and it really is a case of trial and error. I have to say though that the Cats Best tops them all by far and I have been using it continuously this past 6 months. Not tried worlds best though as its more expensive and the general consensus seems to be that it isn't much better

Marcia, Wood pellets can also put the cat off because it's uncomfortable under their feet. I am pleased they are using the new litter

Taco is using the litter box!

I'll be honest, i'd never heard of it before but it certainly smells nicer than those PAH wood pellets.
All 4 cats are using it so that must be good thing

Yes Helen, it looks the same although the name is a bit misleading on the website as the actual litter looks nothing like wood pellets, it's like a larger version of chickcrumb but more spongey. You should be able to get it instore at most PAH if not all.

We have world's best in 2 of our trays and Cats best in three and I must say that while they are both GREAT, I think World's best is a bit better. The clumps are always smaller and more compact and it also tracks less. I rarely have to hoover after they've used the WB. The cats seem to use the 2 different types in equal measure so they obviously don't min but really do make more of a mess with Cats Best. As someone else said though, with Cats Best it is much cheaper though which does give it the thumbs up!

We too have had problems getting wood litter our usuall supplier will only allow 5 bags per delivery and that is not much good when we need to have a minimum order of £150.

We are now having 60 bags at a time from a supplier in Cheshire and it is much cheaper than Beautycat and apparently just as good.

At the moment we cant seem to get woody cat litter but we have been trying something else instead it is the heat pellets seems to work just the same as woodys cats dont seem to know the difference and it appears to be a lot cheaper

I have been using it less than a week and so far I am pleased with it....will update when I am completly changed over as I also use different litter for my own two guys and my tinys I use smart cat as it is paper based which I get when I got to the uk...My hope is to change my own two over as well

They are much of a muchness really for tracking, absorbing smells etc. Oko Plus is the cheaper of the two so that tips it ahead of the WBCL in my book.

Worlds Best and Oko Plus are the only ones I'd use. You can't even smell Pinball and anything that copes with entire boy wee gets 10/10 in my book!

Unfortunately they do both track like mad especially with cats with fluffy snowshoes but it's nothing a daily sweep doesn't sort

It does track a LOT though so have to use litter mats from PAH underneath and around the trays.

Q for any Oko plus users.... Does the 10 litre bag fill a litter tray? I'm a crumb user and still frustrated by the tracking, I tried Classy Cat from Zooplus but wasn't overly impressed so was thinking of trying Oko plus. Chick crumb is so economical I know that 'normal' litters will always cost more but was wondering whether a bag was enough to fill a tray, if it is then that's not too bad costwise.

We now use Argo Baby Chick Crumbs although delivery costs mean you have to order a fair bit to be cost effective. Very good. Recommended to us by Judith at Covcats. We ran out and I tried Worlds Best which is good but quite pricey and haven't noticed it's any more absorbent, better at clumping or better at odour control than the chick crumbs.

Mark, is the wood one different to the normal one. The one I use is spongey lumps, similar to world's best just slightly bigger clumps. It may be the same, I just didn't realise it was made of wood

I can't rate cats best OKO wood clumping highly enough. Just do a search and there are loads of thread about it

- It just lasts so well. Up until the other day, we were putting the soiled stuff on the wood burner which made it even better but even binning it is fine. They say you can flush but I have block the toilet more than once so wouldn't recommend it.

Never tried it- I only use World's best or Cats best, whichever is on offer. It lasts much better than the cheaper ones, is easier to clean and clumps really well with very little odour. I really like both brands.

We were using the Pets at Home wooden cat litter but the problem was that Taco wouldn't use it. So we've decided to change cat litter so see if that helps. We've bought a 8ltr bag of Sophisticat pink litter
