I'll stick to Drontal tablets I think, have ordered them now and usually do not have problems with them being administered, plus they have always worked in the past.

Thanks guys, think next time one of them need a visit to the vet I'll investigate the long term injections.

Mine only get done once a year at their health check and Misa gets miillebax sweetie and all the others get a drop on. Last year Sasa was sedated to get a proper chack and had an injection of one of the 'd' cos she was suffering with fleas and had a double application of stronghold.

They cant have the flea and worm drop ons at the same time and my vet says to leave a 2 week gap......well that was no good for Sasa, so will have to see if an injecttion can be used again.

Its taken me so long to corrected all the typos I think I better stop typing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I assume Liz's Millibex was just a typo for Milbemax?

Is Millibex POM?

The spot on is Droncit and only treats tapeworm, you also need 2 vials for most cats  the spot on alternative to Drontal is Profender but its a POM, this does roundworm and tapeworm.  Have you tried Milbemax tabs instead? Also a POM but smaller and easier to give

We use both Millibex and drontal dependant on the size of said child and how feral they are

it can be a pain to tablet but millibex is a lot smaller and can be hidden in more things than the Drontal which are a 2 parent job in our house and thats just getting them down the nice ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find them small enough to squash inside a piece of Webbox - shame Alice & Willow don't eat treats  :tired:

I use Milbemax although they are smaller I've never yet managed to trick my lot into taking them, I always have to do the open mouth thing

Also when I got Alice and she had tapeworm which was hard to shift, the vet said tablets are more effective. He said profender is OK as a preventative but he would always recommend Milbemax is there is any sign of infestation.

Is the spot on as effective as the tablets?    I have always used the tablets but we all know how fun they can be to administer sometimes so wondering about the spot on as ordering today.
