I've signed it this year as I do every year but those wicked Canadian politicians never seem to listen! It makes me so angry and upset. In fact I cannot visit their country because of this policy. This evil and grotesque event has jaundiced my view of that country forever. The red maple leaf of their national flag represents not the tree but the colour of the blood that soaks their snowy shores every year.
It's dreadful and horrific and I am at a loss to know what to do about it....no amount of lobbying seems to work.
I have an email waiting to be read from IFAW entitled 'Seal Hunt 09: The shocking story of the forgotten victims' but I cannot open it. It is just too distressing. What sort of monster could look into the great liquid brown eyes of a seal pup and club it to death!!!! Can you imagine carrying a baby for all those months and then having it murdered in front of your eyes. It is just heartbreaking. And it keeps happening year after year.
I know there has been a small victory for the harp seals who are under a year old in Russia but why do we humans keep on killing everything on this planet that moves or is in conflict with the food source that we consider
our divine right...... I'm afraid fishermen and farmers are not my favourite people! And as for trappers............!!!!!!!!!!!!
