Ela glad they are with you and so sorry Steem this must be so hard for you.

Yes. I really would of liked to have known myself where they were going and to be able to choose someone i thought was right to be able to reassure myself they were going to be ok, but i have been reassured by elaine that they will go to a good home and i understand the reasons i cant know where they will be, no midnight cat napping for me, lol. But yes it is still very hard to be without them, they have been my life and its going to take a while but i know it's for the best in the long run. Thanks everyone for your support.  :thanks:  :'(

Glad this got sorted in the end

Would have been sorted sooner if all the facts had been given to me in the first place. Still as you say now sorted.

I do feel so sorry for the owner though as she so obviously loved them and if you see all the goodies they have come with, (which will go to their new home), including a floor to ceiling activity centre with more bits to it than I have ever seen. you would not believe it. In 20 years I have never seen so much owned by cat/s. There is also an outside play house still with the owner which can go to the new home  ;D

Glad these two will be taken back into CP care now that Emma is unable to keep them. Should this be moved to the "sorted" section?

I have checked my paperwork to find out the details of who  adopted Ruby & Max, contacted the owner and asked her to ring me.

I have now spoken to the owner and once the fosterer has been in contact I will take the little ones into my home. I know they are much loved and I have assured her that I am very strict when re-homing so know they will go to someone who deserves them. They are now also on our site.

Yes it was the branch i originally adopted them from but they said they are very busy

As you adopted from us you may not have remembered that it is necessary to give them back to us and it is quite clear on your paperwork. It states that you will not pass the cats on to anyone else and would have been signed by you to that effect. Also any cats homed by us are always taken back almost immediately . Perhaps you will care to ring me.

Hi - yes i have tried my local CPL in chesterfield but they have said they are too busy to help me rehome them

I understand an e-mail was sent to me about re-homing 2 cats and I advised that the quickest option would be to contact the Derby shelter. I also posted in the same mail that if they would not place the little ones on their list to ring me. At that time I did not realize we had homed the cats.

Thats a shame they cant help, have you tried the branch you adopted from? Sometimes they agree to take back ex-cats.
Good luck with them, they are gorgerous  :Luv2:

Hi - yes i have tried my local CPL in chesterfield but they have said they are too busy to help me rehome them, i just wanted them to put them on the site as i do not want them to go in to pens and then be rehomed and i would rather do the checking myself, i have already visited a few people who were not suitable, thanks for the advice though. Emma.  :thanks:

Loving Home Needed For 2 Cats - Derbyshire
« Reply #1 on: March 22, 2009, 09:34:48 AM »
Ruby: Likes lots of attention and cuddles loves been stroked all over and will sleep on the bed with me at night, loves her brother very much, likes going outside but does not venture far from the garden, she mostly toilets outside, ruby is not keen on children or other animals, although she is very affectionate and loving, it takes her a while to trust people, i have to watch ruby's weight and make sure she does not eat my leftovers as she has been known to eat full pans of of chilli and curry! She is rather lazy so i have to play with her a lot to get her active otherwise she can put weight on.

Max: In contrast is very active and follows me round the house constantly, max is the curious one and usually once max has tested something ruby then try's it! He is fine with children and will tolerate other animals as he likes to play with them. Max does not like been stroked on his stomach and will not get all cuddly like ruby but still requires lots of attention and love, again he loves been outside but does not venture far from the garden. He adores his sister.

Both ruby and max must have access to a garden, they also do not like to be left alone too long, they still seem to be very insecure about this and let me know about it when i get back! Both cats had originally been very badly abused but settled in with me fine after a few weeks,  although i did have to spend a lot of time training them. They can become quite boisterous when they are in the house for too long and obviously they will have to be kept indoors for the first few weeks to get them used to there enviroment but they are very well calm mannered cats once in a stable enviroment of indoor / out door. They are up to date on all there vaccinations andhave been neutered and spade. Please contact me for any pics or more details. Thanks Emma.
