yes, your own stress does transmit to your animals - mine are always more problematic and prone to health issues when I am stressed ...

Cystitis often is confusing, as the bulk of cases are ideopathic, I have had a few females who have had one bout and that has been it, nothing more, so hopefully this will be a one off for her. If she does get a few bouts, it might be worth having her kidneys checked, as they can cause UTI's.

Thats it I cant think of anything else.
Theres no other cats as we're 4 floors up, no change in food, not been away, I was due to clean the tray today anyway with a full scrub but it was in no way dirty. Its just confusing and a bit worrying. In a way though Im wondering if it could be delayed reaction to me being stressed the last couple of weeks with Mum and Dad moving house.
Food wise we're back on wet food with cystaid and added water again for a while which will no doubt make her grumpy as she likes her biscuits but until she's clear the vet said its best to remove them
Shes ok in herself again now, just very cuddly. Im glad she has the sense to pee in the bath to show me theres a problem if that makes sense

I am sure that wouldn't cause a case of cystitis Tab, it is likely just a coincidence, normal things to trigger would be not cleaning the tray enough, causing them to hold it in more, a diet change that alters the ph of the urine or being away and them getting a bit stressed.

highly unlikely to be you doing exercise I have to say. If it is ideopathic, perhaps there is some new cat in the neighbourhood causing stress? Mind you, once they have had it, the inflammation changes the tissue affected so recurrences become more likely, so maybe you need to consider a diet change to something a little more supportive of that predisposition ...

Amber has cystitis again so we've had a trip to the vets this morning. She hasnt had an attack for about 4 yrs so I thought she'd grown out of it. When she moved in in 1999 she used to get it every 6 - 12 months but it was always ideopathic, quick injection and she was fine.
This morning she had the yowls so my first thought was she was miffed that Mogs had poo'd on HER tray. I cleaned the trays and left her to it. She still did the backwards and forwards and yowling then produced a teeny poo so I thought she was constipated.
I went for a shower and found a red wee in the bath so we went to the vets.
The vet asked if I did anything different yesterday that might have upset her and all I can think of is I tried to do some exercise  :-[ I was trying to get my steps to a healthy level on the pedometer so last night I was walking up and down the hall in the ad breaks.

Surely it cant have been that can it??
