I'm so sorry.

I'd take comfort in the fact that she was safe and warm in her own familiar surroundings, instead of being stressed and scared at the vets.

RIP wee one.

Oh Dawn I am so very sorry to hear the sad news   I can't imagine how you are feeling at the moment but you must take comfort from knowing that Cleo was able to cross over on her own terms, when she was ready to go surrounded by the love and warmth and comfort from her mummy.

RiP Cleo darling ... play hard at the bridge little lady.  Mummy will always love you and you will be sorely missed.

I suppose it's hard because I was so excited when they said she could home, I just didn't expect it to be for the last time  :'(  :'(  I'm no good when it comes to saying goodbye to them cos it breaks my heart, hubby is really upset as well, Cleo was his cat and was like a little dog with him, but more for me when she was poorly  :'(

Thanks everyone   Early hours I was wishing I'd just had her put to sleep when I went to pick her up but in hindsight and after talking to Siobhan this morning, I think it was better for her to be here.  She went really peacefully and if I'd have left her in another night on a drip and she'd have died in the night, I would never have forgiven myself.  It was a hard call for the vets as well as the way Cleo was reacting they weren't sure if it was down to stress or other issues going on with her, and although they weren't really happy her coming home they were concerned about how stressed and unhappy she was in there.  Hubby said she shouldn't have been allowed home but at least here she was with the people that loved her most and she went in my arms  :'(

Sorry to hear this Dawn

With heavy hearts; and a tear in our eyes
after all these years; we must say goodbye
Please understand; we've done all we could
if there was anything we could do; you know we would

I'm sitting right here; gently rubbing your ears
while I talk to you softly; trying to hold back the tears
The memories you gave us; we'll never forget
especially the ones; of the day we all met

One last hug; and one last kiss
you have no idea; how much you'll be missed
To look into your eyes; this one last time
you tell me it's ok; you know it's your time

Dream of that special day and time
when we'll meet at the Bridge; and all will be fine
We'll run and play; side by side
with a soft warm feeling; deep down inside

Your memory will live on; in each one of us
you'll always be number 1; to all of us
So with heavy hearts; and tears in our eyes
just for now my friend; we must say goodbye

Cleo died peacefully in my arms at 4 am.  Her breathing started to slow down by about 3.30am and I could feel her heart beating fast and then slowing down.  I was torn whether to phone the vets up or not but knew in my heart she would be gone by the time I got there.  Rather than stress her out, I kept her where she was which was lying in my arms where she'd been for the last couple of hours.  Her eyes had been just staring since bringing her home from the vets and about 3.45 she closed them and I told her it was ok to go, it broke my heart but I'm glad she was at home and I was holding her and the main thing she went peacefully, her breathing just slowed and she went with it, I actually felt her heart beat stop but couldn't stop crying  :'(  :'(

:RIP: baby girl, you'll be forever in our hearts, xxxxxxx

Cleo seems calmer now but is just lying there staring, I'm not hopeful for a good outcome but Heidi (vet nurse) emailed me and said she will be out of sorts for a while after 3 fits so to keep an eye on her, if she starts twitching, or she looks as if she's heading for another fit to phone the surgery.  If she goes in I won't be bringing her home again as leaving her in has knocked her for six, she seemed quite bright yesterday and Heidi said she's been curled up in a ball today but did let her syringe her, whatevers happened I think is down to when the drip was removed.  Sean wasn't there when they did it as he was doing surgery but he's assured me there has been no episodes of fitting whilst she's been in there so something has scared the  :censored: out of her for her to go into shock  :'(  :'(

Cleo is back from the vets but hasn't eaten for days.  I thought maybe it was the stress of being in the surgery but she's not a happy girl  :'(  When I went to pick her up earlier they had just taken the drip out and she was cowering in the back of her carrier absolutely petrified, I honestly thought she was dying.  I gave her a stroke and started talking to her so she knew it was me and she started this horrible yowling.  I thought she was just upset so brought her home.  I tried her on something to eat to no avail, she then started twitching whilst on my knee and started clamping her jaws on my top and then she starting fitting  :'(  Since then she's had 2 more fits and she makes this horrible yowling noise.  I spoke to Sean earlier and he thinks she's gone into shock, my head is all over and I've just texted him again to see if he's got any ideas.  If she gets no better by tomorrow I think I will have to have her pts, she will not tolerate another vet visit  :'(  :'(

Sean said with the sedation he couldn't do everything he wanted to do or check her mouth properly because her breathing was terrible, he said if he hadn't have reversed it she would probably have died.  I did have mega problems when I had her spayed a couple of years back, she constantly fitted as soon as they sedated her so this has been a worry and god knows what would happen if she ever had to have an op  :tired:  I had to laugh when I went in, they had put "care, nasty cat" on her cage, she has obviously been a bit of a witch and did scratch Sean yesterday  :evillaugh:
