Bubz' eating habits - again!

On the bowl thing what about trying a saucer instead of a bowl.

I used to put the opened pouch in an airtight container and into a cool cupboard, is wasn't as cold as the fridge but it still kept the food fresh. It meant the food didn't dry out, I had left pouches like this overnight and never had any problems.

Jess and Milo wouldn't eat refrigerated food or food warmed up.

Unless the mood takes him, Clapton won't eat food unless it has just been opened. We throw away more food than is consumed in this house - I at least 6 pouches a day go in the bin (with 4 cats). Just one of those things. Cats aren't dogs and are very particular 

I have sometimes wondered if manufacturers put something in catfood that makes it go off after 15 minutes 

Another thing is what type of bowl do you use, a lot of cats won't eat or drink from plastic bowls as they can smell them.

How about getting a bowl that a whole pouch or tray fits in. It must be a tiny bowl you currently use. I say this because she may just think she's eaten everything and so won't eat more.

I will try this - I have got a slightly larger bowl that she knows.

Oops!  Thanks Desley - I should have said it was home made gravy - more like a stock  No onion and low-sodium salt.  Thanks so much for the reminder

The foil trays are only 100g, so shouldn't be too much in one go. Just be careful with adding human gravy due to the salt/onion content, hot water might be a better way to go.

Try a drop of lukewarm gravy!!  Mr T loves to lick jelly and/or gravy from his food and leave the "boring" bits.  I dont like wasting food, so I tried a bit of our gravy over it for a laugh and he loved it!! And ate all the food underneath the gravy

Don't have a microwave, Christine, but I have left it out to reach room temperature and ------ absolutely no success!

Pop the refrigerated portion into a microwaveable dish and warm it for a few seconds?  Lots of cats don't like to eat cold stuff.

Since she wont eat Whiskas Supermeat anymore I tried a few options from Asda & the Co-op. The latter's pouches in gravy are currently in favour and Asda's Tiger foil trays have been. Only thing is Bubz has abruptly stopped eating the 2nd half of the tray when it has been refrigerated! She seems to tolerate the first half - its too much to fit into her bowl all at once and I doubt she'd finish it if it would - but she is turning her nose up at the second half.

Any ideas how to encourage her to do more than lick the moister bits off would be greatly welcomed as would what to do with the food that she has turned her nose up at.
