Well Smokey and Fluff left us at the weekend for their temporary foster home.  Their new mum is going away for Christmas and New Year but has arranged to pick them up on 3rd January.  :Luv:

Scruffy has settled in very very well with my friend Stephen - he loves his new daddy dearly and is very happy.  :Luv2:

Its a weight of mine and the previous owners mind that they are sorted but with her age and health problems there was not alternative than to find them new forever homes.

Yey the meeting went well.  All of the cats decided to come into the room and to introduce themselves to her.

She is lovely and has decided that she would like to give Smokey and Fluff their forever home.  The problem is she can't take them until after the New Year and I am going into hospital probably before Christmas for surgery.

We have agreed that I will keep them for another week (unless I get a call from the hospital) and then they are going to be looked after by the persian rescue that put me in touch with her until she can take them.

Sooooo if all goes to plan they have found their forever mom and I am sure they will be very, very happy with her.  :Luv2:

I have a lady coming to be introduced to Smokey and Fluff tonight.  She is very keen on taking both of them  :Luv2:.  Her parents have always had persians and she is moving into her own home after renting from someone who would not allow pets.

Please wish these two lovely kitties good luck for their meeting with their potential forever mum.

I have a couple of people who are interested in both but won't be able to take them until the new year.

Also have someone interested in taking the little boy Smokey only.

They have been here since Monday and they are both absolutely georgous!  Smokey is a huge cuddly bear of a cat who is really chatty.  Fluff is shy but loves being stroked.  No agression from either of them to mine or the other way round.  They already have full run of the house and are making themsevles at home.

I'm amazed that it went so well but then again I've never had any problems with any of my persians getting along from the start.  Dunno whether its cause they are all "a bit dim" as some other Purrs Member said on a different post

Just a quick update on this since I've not posted for a couple of weeks (I've been lucky enough to have been on holiday).

Scruff, the little blue boy went to his lovely new home today with my friend Stephen.  He will keep me updated on how he gets on but I am sure that he will be very happy.  When I left he was already sitting on his new slaves knee!

Smokey and Fluff (black boy and tortie girl) are now residing with me, hubby and our three until homes can be found.  I have (through the persian rescue I contacted) two professional couples who are very interested in taking both of them.  They have asked to see them this weekend.  One couple is moving in a few weeks and would want to wait until they have moved to take them.  The other would like them immediately.

Let you know how it goes.

Hope you can persuade you oh to keep them both !
I would love to take one , but i just couldn''t and i would hope someone would have them and keep them together anyway -its so upsetting to think of them being split up.

She doesn't want to keep them until they are rehomed that is the problem.  Unfortunately she wants rid of them asap as she feels she can't cope with them.  That is why I've said I will have them until a home can be found.  Will contact the rescues you have suggested.  Thanks x

Bungly - rehomed one male.  So a little tortie girl (who looks exactly like my Smartie) and a little black boy.

We at the UKRCC keep them in there own homes if at all poss and re home from their homes. I am sure that some rescues do that too so please try those rescues I put and see if they do it that way as well then they won't have to be moved until a suitable home is found.

I've been hinting to hubby about keeping them but he's not having any of it!  Worried about his precious girls and how they would react to a boy.

Might come round though when we have them here.  I'm hoping so  :evillaugh:

Really wish i could take the other 2 -but i would be totally on overload having 5 already and Winston wouldn''t take to a male cat , don''t think he would like any more at all really , he has been pretty good with the last 2 females.
Hope they soon find their forever home - if i had a bigger place then i could maybe have considered it - but i guess you have to stop sometime and can''t take them all in as much as you would like to.
Thats a good thing you are doing , looking after them and not taking them to a rescue.

I heard there''s a couple of persian rescues that are not good , cannot remember where , but were said to be dirty and the cats looked in a mess - not even sure if they are still going as this was a couple of years ago - but would hate one to end up in a horrible place like that.

I am sure if its just a case of getting them to one of these rescues then if you put a plea for help on here that we could get some kind of raily for them to get to there.
I know the UKRCC who I am a volunteer for that rescue ragdolls and other pedigree cats will home all over the uk and will try to keep the cats in there own home until we can find the best new home/s for them.I am not sure if any of those rescues do the same but you won't know until you try. good luck let us know how you get on ;D

Thanks for that Kelly but most of them are way out of our area.  Are they prepared to travel a good distance to collect the cats?

Scruffy the little blue boy will be going to live with my friend Stephen who lost Sebastian his cat of many years about three months ago.   He was devastated when he had to have him pts and didn't know whether he wanted to get another cat but Scruffy has won his heart.

Hope Smokey and Fluffy are as lucky with their new forever homes.

Emma

Spent about half an hour with them and they were typical persians (lazing about on our knees).  The little tortie girl and the smoke boy I'm told aren't the best of friends but they were lying beside each other whilst we were there and there was no agression.  The boys are bigger that the girl so she may be the best to keep Buster company.  Saw him on catchat a couple of months ago by the way - he is lovely.

Do you want to check with your lady then pm me if she is interested in seeing them.

Thanks x

I have a client potentially looking for another Persian, she rehomed one from me a few months ago and we think he'd love a friend. Buster is 10 years old, small & very gentle natured so would need a similarly natured companion. Young lady also has a disabled younger brother who can be noisy but is sweet with the cat & never rough, but obviously this is an important factor to consider as Buster doesn't mind at all and is really benefitting the boy, but a very nervous cat might not like him. Adopted Buster via myself with full contract & back up, so another would be the same. Let me know if any of this trio might be suitable - emma.foxall@yahoo.co.uk

Yes, both St Francis and Chapelhouse put them in pens and charge £160 each cat -thats why it would cost such a lot to take all 3 -thats £480 !!!!
I think you are better doing what you are doing -wish i lived neare or could take them- but 8 would be too many and i think some of mine would object ! I have got FiFi settled now , she has been here almost 5 months now.

Medomsley Moggies who are only about twenty minutes away from where the lady lives.  I'm aware that the smaller rescues are usually stretched so that's why I've agreed to foster them until they are found homes.  The lady there has a waiting list of people looking to rehome who she has background checked.

How do St Francis work?  Is it the same as the above?  I would also hate for them to be penned up if I can keep them at here instead!
