According to the vet and vet nurse, it can happen but is more common in dogs. Poor Midge did cry bless him and it made it worse because he is still nervous around strangers and it must have felt most uncomfortable for him

They said if left, it is harder to get back as it dries out, luckily he was still slightly lubricated. I'm going to keep a close eye on him and hopefully it will stay in place. Typically it's nearly weekend and I work weekends so I'll have to get the kids to keep an eye on him tomorrow, if he needs the vets it's not so bad as the boss is away this weekend so I can sneak out
