Silvie had a sore eye recently too (a wee infection, conjunctivitis or something probably, antibiotic ointment for 10 days sorted it out no probs) and I was in the vet with her a few times for that and for her regular arthritis check, and a blood test cos she's on Metacam all the time, and I'd been in with the guinea pigs to get their nails trimmed!
The vet asked me if I'd got a season ticket... :P
Don't care what they think of me though - rather see the vet and for them to tell me there's nothing wrong so that I know, than me worrying or the animals suffering!  :)

Lol it wasn't as bad as the saturday morning they were fully booked and Meeko had the limp. I had to nearly fight with the receptionist to get him seen and when I took him there there wasn't a hint of the limp, I was mortified

The saltwater seems to be helping whatever it was, it's just about back to normal. I think you're right, Clare, it's just been dirt in there

Glad it turned out to be nothing, even if you did look like a paranoid cat Mum  :evillaugh:

Don't you just love it when they make you look like a paranoid meowmy  :tired:

Seriously though, glad there's no noticable problems with the eye, maybe just a bit of just or grit in there which has now gone

Had him at the vets at 5, of course he made a liar out of me and had the eye wide open!
He had a good look though and couldn't see anything, I'm to bathe it with a quarter teaspoon of salt in a cup of tepid water 3 times a day, keep an eye on it and if it's still the same to bring him back in a couple of days. Thanks you too

I would suggest vet visit as well, even a microscopic scratch to the eye can be very sore and painful for puss, so worth checking out as this may need some eyedrops as well.

I always err on the side of caution, especially with eyes.

I'd say go to the vet, we had this will Tilly and they put some dye in her eye and apparently there was a scratch which needed antibiotic cream

He's not opening it fully, it does look more watery or anything than the other one, it doesn't look red either. He was fine when I went to bed last night, this is just since I got up this morning. Is there anything I should do?
