Other than there over reacting scaring me for no reason they are lovely vets, When tiggy went in for cystitis they rang me 2 days later too see how she was etc and they never charge me for absoloutly everything which can only be a good thing x

Yes he is insured with axa,

The problem with finding another vets is that the other local one is horrible and i left them as they i took kitty there for a check up 3 weeks before she died and they didnt notice anything unusaul and when i took her too my current vets they said she would of been like that for a while and any good vet would of noticed.

Glad you spoke to someone a bit more sensible, although I dont agree with them on males needing a collar due to licking, loads of males get done without one.

Your vet sounds far to surgery happy for my liking, also panic mongering. I doont think I would be happy with that and would be hunting around for somewhere more balanced.

Exactly if he starts having problems eating then ill take him to the vets but untill then ill just carry on with the logic gel that tiggy has too have and ill start him with it from now and see how things go

He went back for his post op check this morning and he has now got his coller off i asked why he had it on and apparently it was so he didnt lick himself, I saw a different veterinary nurse and she said they need too keep an eye on his gingivitis and if it gets really bad remove all his teeth but i just let it go over my head as he is only 6 and a half months and i personally think he may be teething he eats fine so its not as though it hurts him x

Sorry the vet scared you, this happened with one of my ex fosters, and it actually turned out she had calici virus, which is a much more common cause of gingivitis in such young cats. I wouldnt rush to get any tested.

Can't understand why they have put a collar on him though, I have only had those for males when they have had undescended testicles and had to go in the groin for the other.

Thanks for all the advice, I got sooty tested as the vet scared me and obviously i believed what they said,

They all seem totally healthy other than tiggy is slightly thin but i think this is just normall for her she weighs 3.4kg but is a small cat anyway,

They are all fed PAH dry food as pippin and tiggy had very poorly tummy when younger and the vets put them on science plan but when i tried PAH dry they were fine with it, I would like too try and get some wet food into there diet but ive tried so many different brands that i give up as pippin was constantly having diarrohea.

I collected sooty last night and he really isnt happy he has bald patches on both his legs and a bald patch on the underside of his neck, A little bit of blood on his shoulders and a huge lampshade lol he has 2 go back monday for a check up, Any ideas why he has got a lampshade as he hasnt got any stitches?

I really do appreciate all the advice everyone on here gives coz without you i would worry myself sick with everything the vet says

Gingivitis is very common, i wouldnt test if they have no other clinical signs. What are they fed? Diet plays an important part in health so may be room to make improvements there

I personally wouldnt get them tested hun.
Lots of cats have bad gums .....I would wait and if any of them seem ill in a few years down the line them get them tested xx

If they are all in god health I really wouldnt rush to get tests done, a lot of cats have inflamed gums and the vets will normally treat for gingivitis before going for blood tests.

Well all 4 of them didnt have very good beginings, Patch was a feral kitten, Tiggy and pippin were dumped at CP with there mum and were in a state and my mums neighbour abandoned the house and left 2 kittens there 1 being sooty and i havent got the other one but my neighbour has. Im hoping that it is nothing more serious but testing all 4 will cost allot of money x

It could just be a case of poorly kitten up bringing = we have siblings that have bad gums and teeth and others who are just fine

Wouldn't worry about the testing having just been through the Corona issue with ours its expensive and we only have one carrier Beijing whose Mum Gem died friom FIP

His test came back negative and they want to do tiggys as she has quite badly inflammed gums but lucy did say it can wait untill after xmas as its very unlikey that it is in the household as one is negative, Im going to try and take tiggy in next week though, im not as worried as i was ill just be glad to get him home, How much are in house bloods usually?

I'm sure there must be less sinister reasons as well - we took amber in the other day where she had bitten her tongue and the first thing they mention was cancer - try not to worry too much

I took sooty into be neutured this morning and thought everything would be fine the veterinary nurse checked him over and his gums were inflammed so she got lucy (very nice vet) she had a look and said he was probably teething then she looked on my records and realised that when the other 3 have been in they have all had inflammed gums aswell,
So she thought that maybe they have fiv or feline lukemia and wanted too run bloods on sooty,

I went home in pieces didnt know what too do with myself i couldn't stop crying!

Just after 11am she rang too say that it came back negative

She suggests that i get bloods done for tiggy aswell and if hers come back negative its upto me if i have the other 2 done, any suggestions on this?

Ive got too pick him up at 4.50pm
