So very sorry Mildred  :(
I think we all go through the Guilt and What if's when we suddenly lose a furbabe
but remember they are so darned good at hiding illness and pain  :shy:

:RIP: Kevin, safe and well again at the bridge

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Dad to Bridge babes Hamish, Misty, Olivia and Robbie :'(

I lost my lovely lad Kevin back at easter to FIV. He tested positive on a monday and died on the friday. An infection he had picked up was too much for him to fight.

He tested negative when I first got him and was kept as a house cat for six years. He was vaccinated, never ill, spoilt rotten and loved very much.

I still feel guilty that I didnt pick up on the signs sooner.Ive been through all the what ifs a hundred times and I know it wont change anything.

Feeling really down about it today due to work.

We had a cat come in a few days ago that was riddled in fleas, not castrated and 4years old, never vaccinated and covered in fight wounds. He was very depressed and not eating. The owner didnt want to spend too much and only came in because of the fleas.
He tested positive for FIV but after a few days of fluids and TLC he's gone home today much better.
I had to chat to the owners about FIV and advise them what signs to watch out for etc which I found really hard to do.

Im really happy that the cat has got a chance (he's a fantastic cat) and that the owners didnt opt for a PTS but at the same time im very much feeling it so unfair that my lad didnt get a chance to fight back.
I still miss him so very much.
Each time I think its starting to get easier to cope with something happens .
