I flush it down the loo! Goes down fine so far.

I also have the lovely covered corner cat tray, so that combined with the cat's best means you would never know we had a tray, most people who come are surprised when they realise what it is. Does make it a bit of a mission though taking the tray to the bathroom, lid off, sifting through, flushing, lid back on, back to its corner. Sigh, the perils of being a slave.

How one 5 month old kitten can pee and poo so much in 24 hours is beyond me.

I use cats best too - I think its fabulous but have never tried flushing it down the loo!

I was wondering whether to try getting some online, but not Zooplus after the last incident, and the fact that its more expensive on there than in PAH!

I think I will stock up at the Supreme, last year the huge sacks were really good value

  MillysMum and Gillian.  On the poo front, that accords with what I had thought.  I might try a small clump in the worm bin to see what happens.  Assuming there ever is a clump to experiment with, that is.  Up to now, Blip will brave any weather rather than use a (lovely, hygienic, private) litter tray.

We have a large worm bin, Gillian.  I wonder if it would be OK to put the clumps in there?  I take it you don't put the faeces on the compost heap, or do you?

Not sure about putting the clumps in a worm bin, honestly don't know. No definitely no poop on the compost heap - I bag and bin.

I put the Oko plus clumps on the compost heap, apparently v good for mixing in with the compost, so should have some lovely stuff to put on the flower beds next year

I was trying not to order online as the chances are I won't be home when they deliver - still I suppos OKO is a lot easier to collect from the post office than clay.

No, think it looks like ordinary wood pellets? Their price for the Gold is a lot more than Zooplus at the mo. I used to by Okoplus from MJM when it first came out - they were the first distributors of it I believe.

I can't work out if it is free delivery - it says orders under £18.50 are subject to a £2.95 surcharge.

If their delivery is free, the prices aren't bad - orders over £50 get 5% discount, over £100, 10% and over £150 12.5%

Zooplus are out of sock of big bags of Okoplus.

Well, Blip has sniffed around her lovely new tray, sat looking longingly at the garden, and fallen asleep on the sofa. 

I thought you were going to say she'd fallen asleep in the tray LOL! - thats what one of mine did when I used the litter pearls (briefly) - filled up all the trays and waited with baited breath for one of them to use it - went upstairs, came back down about 10 mins later and found Ben curled up asleep in one of the trays

Well, Blip has sniffed around her lovely new tray, sat looking longingly at the garden, and fallen asleep on the sofa.  She hasn't had a comfort break this evening and is unlikely to until tomorrow morning 

I wish she would use her lovely, clean new tray.  If she ever does so, I'll bag and bin.  Kirst and Mark.

Reading the (German) packaging, it specifically says that the clumps can be flushed down the loo.  Has anyone done this and is it OK?

Small amounts are OK as long as the flush is good. Clapton's "by the pint" ones are a bit iffy and the toilet has been known to fill to the top before draining away - the toilet in the attic is a compact one so maybe that is why. I find it just as easy to bag & bin. I am going to try to burn them on the wood burner - I have been know to put "solids" on there. Quite a hygienic disposal method?

I have tried and although they do flush mine needed a couple of goes before it disappeared - however our water system in the house is appalling!


As its ecological and biodegradable it has gone on the gravelLy part of the garden to help our wild flowers grow!

By the way, this is probably a hypothetical question as Blip hasn't used a litter tray since 2000 (bar a single wee after her dental op several years ago) but with the cold weather in mind, I've tried again and bought her a lovely corner unit covered tray and a quantity of Cats' Best Oeko Plus.  It arrived today and I've commissioned it.
