I will never believe a post of yours in future  :P

What are you talking about?  :-: The letter is genuine and completely unsolicited - I swear on my life  ;D

Haven't had any contact from the fraudsters yet but have increased security just in case  :shify:

I'm pointing the finger at Mark as yesterdays expedition to the library shows he's not above ID theft :evillaugh:

P.S.  Helen you have no shame :evillaugh:

It's definitely nothing to do with my vets, he's been registered since kittenhood and they know he is already insured.

I then rang the insurance company, they are taking this very seriously and have confirmed it as a fraudulent transaction.  They have listened to the call and it has been traced back to a pre-pay unregistered mobile, in the background someone can be heard saying '...once he's insured we can kidnap catnap him and demand a ransom.  We can hold him against his will until every single one of those calendars is sold'  :scared:

Please, help raise the ransom money by buying the professionally printed two year calendar featuring cats from Purrs with every penny profit going to Ron's rescue LostCatsBrighton - 114,000 (one hundred and fourteen thousand) pennies if we sell all 150 copies. Available to order from http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/catalog/2009-2010-large-calendar-purrs-design-p-145.html

I got a free month's insurance with Petplan when I first took my cats to the vet.  Didn't cost me anything and I didn't have to sign up with Petplan.
I would just give them a call and see what they say.

Helen That is awful!!! Poor wee Riley to have something dreadful liek that done. Mind you, he is so cute, you can understand why someone would want to be him!

Good thing Ron has his wonderful facility in case Riley gets cat-napped - he will have a warm bed and safe home to go to when he escapes ....

Have you phoned the insurance company and told them? - surely they must have the name, address and bank details of whoever did it?  - could just be a "clerical error" but sounds iffy  :shify:

Before you all say it, No, this is most definitely not a hoax in order to promote the fantastic, professionally printed two year calendar featuring cats from Purrs with every penny profit going to Ron's rescue LostCatsBrighton - 114,000 (one hundred and fourteen thousand) pennies if we sell all 150 copies. Availale to order from http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/catalog/2009-2010-large-calendar-purrs-design-p-145.html

Honestly, it isnt.  Got a letter this morning and it seems that someone has taken out an insurance policy using Riley's details  :-: I'm not sure what their motive is, maybe there will be a hitman style attempt on his life with the fraudster claiming on the policy? They'll have to come through me first  >:(

Riley already has his own insurance, I haven't applied for any insurance recently and neither has he. What should I do?  Shall I report it to the Police?  What if someone tries to take out a loan in his name  :scared:
