1lb 8 ozs is 24 ozs, so two thirds of a kg, i.e. 667g.

I used to be - my vets used to weigh in lb, and it was terrible working out weights as most cat things are in kg - fortunately they have new scales now and everything is weighed in kg, even kittens. Oscar is going to be big, as he was 1.99kg 3 weeks ago and very thin.

Thanks for that, Desley - to be honest I'm terrible at remembering that sort of thing. All I cared about was there were no comments after the weights like "....the vet said they were on the small side" or something similiar. ;)

Well that's probably the weight measurement if that seems more accurate - I never claimed to be good at things like that!

Key thing is they're healthy, happy and loved; as far as I'm concerned that was what was supposed to happen. The update didn't mention kg I did and I already said I was probably mistaken.

No way can they weigh  1.8 and 1.9 kg. You only have to look at them to know. If you had said 1lb 8 oz and 1 lb 9 oz I would think that would be more believable.

Udate I received.

"Noah is 1.8 and Jinx is 1.7, they are doing a lot better now! They have been wormed and flead today and their infection has gone. Plus they have put on a little weight and their coats are now nice and fluffy. They are very playful, Noah is very clingy still and loves to sit on my shoulder whilst Jinx is more active and likes to climb things (me mostly)  They have started to eat wet food which is great!"

They are definitely that age - not only did I estimate that, so did a VN and a vet! Maybe I got the weights wrong. :shy: (It's possible.) Will find out and correct accordingly. :)

They are 1.8 and 1.9 kg. :)

They are now in their new home and are very loved. The lady said to me on the phone a couple of days ago she can't imagine her life without them - so they've worked their magic extremely fat, bless them!

The flea treatment will be applied ASAP. The poor little ones have a bacterial infection so the antibiotics need to be absorbed properly first.

In the absence of available data, the product should not be used on kittens less than 8 weeks old and/or weighing less than 1kg.


I'd always use the frontline spray JS, it works quicker anyhow if they actually have fleas present.

I think they have to be over 1kg for normal frontline an they look a bit too tenny to me!! Best to ask the vet for some kitten frontline. ;)

The title says it all. From the looks of it a little boy and a little girl. The boy is very nervous but the girl is a fiesty little thing. ;)
