Any reason why Alice going flying round the room after using her tray?

My house cat Mitz does this after having a wee.  He's blind, so the mad tearing around and eerie yowling are often followed by a loud "clang!" as his head meets the radiator on the second lap.

I dread him doing a poo when I've got people round for dinner, cos the pong is overpowering (typical bloke, won't put the loo seat down!).   We had the bit of grass sticking out scenario the other day as well.  Lovely skid marks everywhere.  Thanks Mitz!

  Chloe goes mad after using her tray, too.  Its a sort of "Thats a weight of my mind!" thing, I guess.  Over the years Ive fostered and owned quite a few kitties and many of them have had the post-poo mad moment.  When litter trays were on lino or tiles, we had cat-brake-failure and they skiidded or crashed.  Carpet hs helped   Chloe is now an elderly lady (16ish) but still has her mad moments.  She is also convinced that mice live under the rug in the living room and hunts them We often have a flat-mouse-hunt (well, theyd have to be flat to live under a rug!) after a litter trip.

I do like the idea of them running from the smell - but then shouldnt husbands/partners do the same sometimes?!

Max has always sung at the top of his voice when having a poo, then charged around like a loony too when liberated! He does it less now (the charging around) but once I found him on top of the kitchen units where I'd not thought there was room for a cat - he was squashed flat, then he couldn't get down. He still howls every time though so we hope for well timed bowel movements (as do the neighbours no doubt). Sounds like it's quite common?!

Lexy only does that after she's had a poo, but it usually means she still has some there...  the sensation of it makes her run. I usually find a dangly int his case  The dragging bum might mean that too... cleaning you know

Mark, sleeping where ever takes her fancy is the sign of a cat that's settled in it's environment.

The poo thing - I tend to agree with Horza; I'd run from some of the smells produced too!

Max always has a mad 5 minutes after he's done a poo as well

When I got Kylie, she used to cry and cower after doing a poo as if I was going to tell her off. I had to assure her she was a good girl and pet her. Within a week, she was happy to curl a stinker out for me

our Penny and Squeaky always used to do that, litter flying from their feet darting round the house we used to say they were celebrating having a poo

A few weeks ago, she came flying out, ran behind the sofa a skidded along, ran around the front and did that horrible bum drag that dogs do - I said she can't have worms as she had only just been done. I looked and there was a long strand of grass sticking out of her derrière

When she has been, she comes flying out of the bathroom and runs around the room like a whirlwind - I don't know why she does this - usually after a poo 

She is also spending quite a bit of time on the hard wood floor under the coffee table rather than one of her beds or the rug.


Just some odd behaviour
