I'd love to understand more about what this is about with Axa - if they can't set up the DD from the online info you provide why don't they just say that and explain a mandate will be forwarded.

The same thing happened with my 4 cats and I hadn't realised at the start (but within a couple of weeks). They had sent the mandate with the policy. I rang them apologising profusely as it was my fault for not checking the info they had sent. I asked them what would have happened if i had needed to claim and was told they would cover me.

I'll be signing Lexie and Purdey up soon so will be watching the post for the mandate this time.

They should make that clear. When I get my Lloyds TSB policies, I don't even open them.

To be fair tho its not really their fault is it, people should read their mail  :shy:

They could get past the need for a signature by taking a digital tick, cant remember which company it was i did that for recently

I'm am so lazy with post!  I have a £10 standing order that comes out of my bank every month and gets paid back the next day, I've no idea what it is for but the thought of trying to find out is too awful - I hate paper (and probably in the wrong job!)

What I did notice is that with monthly payments, they take all your details online and then write to you shortly after to say they were unable to process DD and send you a form that needs to be competed really quickly to be within the stated deadline.  The accompanying letter doesn't exactly highlight that the form needs dealing with.

I had that too, I rang them up and said they already had all my details but he said that they have to have the signed mandate before they can set up the DD.  A bit odd really as I'm sure other companies manage without that but it's not that they are making mistakes with the DD's or not being able to set them up just that they don't set it up until they get the signed form back

No claims or pre-existing conditions. There is about £44 outstanding (3 months). I had assumed it was sorted as I did it online. I didn't even look at the paperwork when it came through.

Have you tried to get a current online quote Mark to see if price would go up if you reapplied?

Has Alice had any possibly recurring conditions since commencement of the policy whether or not you made a claim?

How much are we talking about?

I have gone through the process of Axa applications 4 times and had no problems with DDs. What I did notice is that with monthly payments, they take all your details online and then write to you shortly after to say they were unable to process DD and send you a form that needs to be competed really quickly to be within the stated deadline.  The accompanying letter doesn't exactly highlight that the form needs dealing with.

Am I the only person that checks bank statements each month?

I currently have the one final claim outstanding for Thomas  :(  Have to say Axa have been very good paying up.

I haven't put any claims in and I am quite happy to pay them the back amount as long as I am sure they would have honoured a claim between July and now. I don't want to fleece them.

Also. If you have claimed in the past for an illness, The re started policy will be like a new one and the past illness will be a pre existing condition which then wont be covered.

I got a letter today saying they haven't received a direct debit mandate for Alice. It says I have 14 days to return it or the policy will be cancelled. The thing is, if something had happened, would I have been able to claim? - as they are asking for 3 months back payment. If I am sure they would have, I will pay it. Otherwise, I will cancel it and start a new one.

Any thoughts?
