I would just take her.  Could your bf go over and pick her up?  I personally would, then deal with the m-i-l consequences afterwards.  Good luck x

How awful.   Can you get Purdy and take her to your vet for a second opinion?

we've just seen purdie and the lump on her back is huge! roughly the size of an apple!

theres no medicine for her around the house, so im wondering if the vets have perscribed anything

by the looks of it, all they've done is shave around the area to have a better look, thats all   >:(

Update. He's spoken to his mother this morning and she can't bothered  >:( also, apparently, purdie has been ill for at least a week!  and here's the best part, it's apparently mine and my partners fault that she's ill because we havn't given her our cat carrier for transport to the vet, even though she's never asked for it!  :tired:

my partner is going to phone the vets now and ask for advice, although he may just end up taking her regardless.

My bf's mother's cat is obese, has got feline athritus and is about 6 years behind on vacinations and worming!

We have tried telling her that she needs to lose weight (she gets fed roughly 2 huge bowlfuls of biscuits and 1 meat pouch a day) but she won't listen. We took the cat to our vet and she said that Purdie (the cats name) should have at least another 7 years of her life left but the way things are going, the vet is predicting no more than 2 years!

Now she's called us and said that Purdie can no longer jump onto any chair or sofa in the house, and she's got a lump on her back thats appeared quite suddenly. She's taking her to the vets tomorrow morning.

You'd think that was good, but the vets she's taking purdie to is a vet that doesn't know hardly anything about cats, they've admitted that to me. They specialise in cattle and equine. We stopped seeing them over 2 years ago.

I've asked my bf to speak to her and let us take purdie to our vets who are extremely good.

I'm just worried that this lump may be a tumor of some sort  :(
