This has happened to two of my cats. Puss had his tooth removed (eventually) but to be honest I hink it almost looks as though its more of a problem now its gone. His top lip tends to stick to his gum and he has a permanent Elvis sneer.

Ging has done the same thing but I'm in no rush to do anything about it.

Gill, it should be fine if it is just the tip of the canine. If Ducha lets you you can try touching the area of gum around the tooth to make sure there isn`t any tenderness. If he starts to go off his food then as i`m sure you already know he should go to the vets.

Gill, I think the main prob you will have is in case there is a sharp edge on that tooth that could cut into his gums.
Please spay your cat

Tonight when Ducha yawned I noticed he has broken the end (tip) of one of upper cannines. I dont know how long its been like that cept I think it was OK about a week or so ago.

he has shown no sign of pain and I saw him outside in the bitter cold yesterday eating grass and as far as I know he is eating and drinking normally. I know cats teeth work a bit different to ours but is he likely to be in pain from this?

he has had his chin stroked tonight just the same as before and doesnt seem to avoid being touched.

I can ask the vet the same thing on Monday but dont want to have to take him for two hours in the car for them to just look at  if he is OK.

Opinions would be welcomed.  :thanks:
