Chilli was a stitch puller, couldn't take the cone off for more than 3 minutes without her having a go.

Kind of amusing watching her trying to go through doors and up stairs without making allowances for said cone. Not so funny when she decided she wanted a smooch in the middle of the night and near took my nose off with the blasted thing!

Definately ask for the internal stitches, I dont understand why all vets dont spay this way anyway. No visible stitches = no lampshade = no stitch pulling = happy cat

Mellika was spayed this way and we had no problems at all and the healing time seemed a lot quicker

I agree, When Layla was spayed we had no problems with chewing stitches as the vet used this type. They dissolved as well which was a lot easier than having to have them removed! Hope they recover well!

Ask your vet to do intradermal stitches,with this method all trace of stitch is inside.

My girls are due to go in to be spayed next month and I'm really nervous. Not because I think it will go wrong, but because I KNOW they are gonna love pulling stitches out. Has anyone got any tricks for keeping them from doing it? I guess with two they are more likley to pull out each others if they can't reach their own!
