Has to be said, Old Mog is far from relaxing! But I love all four of them, and agree. The nurturing instinct humans have is fulfilled well by caring for animals. I must specify here that my animals are in no way "baby substitutes." I'm aware of the huge difference between each species! ;)

Good morning folks,

Was thinking about this again yesterday evening whilst stroking Frankie as he was stretched out on my lap on the settee purring away quietly.

sym·bi·o·sis (smb-ss, -b-)
n. pl. sym·bi·o·ses (-sz)
1. A close, prolonged association between two or more different organisms of different species that may, but does not necessarily, benefit each member.
2. A relationship of mutual benefit or dependence.

IMO That sums up the cat/human relationship very well, I provide shelter, food, warmth, companionship and loving and they provide loving and companionship, works for me! ;D

They fulfill the human needs in me to love and protect. The only time I ever truly relax without thinking about something or "thinking about thinking about something" etc. is when I have either, or both, of them on my lap or the bed purring away contentedly, bliss!! :).

Cheers

Leigh
