Wonderful news, and good to know RC food works, I know the Hills obesity diet doesn't.

Mitten went in for weigh in today and in the 3 weeks that she has been kept on her strict diet she has lost 0.6kg, this shows that Royal Canin Obesity works .

The good news is that the new slimmer lady has gone to her new home this afternoon.

Excellent news on both counts  :)

I feel like public enemy no 1; Mittens daily allowance is 1 satchet and 26grams of Royal Canin obesity, it hasnt even touched the sides and she keeps looking and meowing as if to say wheres the rest.

Mitten not terribly happy after todays dental but has just eaten a tiny amount so am sure she will soon feel better.

Aww, the poor love. I personally dont rate obesity food, I had much better success with senior food, but with that price, I hope she likes it. 2kg is a lot, poor thing - it took Tom 14 months to lose 2.2kg.

I am glad I did ask for the £30. so far spent £28 on obesity food wet and dry, £15 on first vaccination, shes had stronghold and milbemax and tomorrow she is going in for a much overdue dental and also a microchip. Vet says she is 2kg overweight.

When we were looking for a pet sitter, we tried a lot of agencies and recommendations, and met (and rejected) three before we found one we all liked.

We have been discussing our first holiday in 4 years and a colleague of OH has offered to house sit. She is a cat lover. I said that would be a good idea as long as she could get Clapton to take his Fortekor. Dennis said to be on the safe side, we should also have a petsitter come in twice a day as back up  :evillaugh:

Mark, someone said that to me once when I'd been talking about our pet sitter - they looked at me like I was barmy and said - "oh, when we had a cat, we just left food and water and it was fine for a couple of days.  Cats are okay on their own......"

its amazing isnt' it what they deem constitutes good care and nutrition!     sadly, it is all too common an occurence with cats coming in!!  Sonny we homed afew weeks ago spent his life on a diet of the cheap asda kibble bicces and nowt else!

I used to work with a man - he wasn't hard up. He owned his house outright as his father left it to him - he was close to retirement and used to go away 4 or 5 times a year. He said all he did was leave  about 5 bowls of biscuits and the same with water. He said his cat LOVED Aldi bisbuits and they were only about 80p for a big box. Even then I told him they were rubbish and I fed Kylie Hill's. He wouldn't have it though. He said his cat was "As happy as Larry" - he also thought it was fine to go away and leave the cat to it's own devices. We argued about it a lot but he was bemused that I "Made a fuss" about cats - as far as he was concerned, all they needed was "a bit of food and water"

I think Mitten the kitten has landed on all 4 paws and will enjoy all the things the Inn has for the kitties

She is a cutie -

We have decided never to split up as we have to many who love us equally and it would break out hearts so Robin and the Clan Cats and I are together forever!!!!!!

MIL is up for grabs though - she is housetrained!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

She was disposed of following marriage break up neither partner wanting custody
That is so sad - what must her life have been like with two owners who didn't like each other and didn't want her. When I split from my first husband it was all fairly amicable until the question of the cats arose - we BOTH wanted to keep them (I won  :sneaky:)
Her owner must really have got your back up for you to ask for money.  Well done

I see.

Give her a hug from me, Teresa; at least we know that she will very quickly respond to your loving care.

Meet 10year old Kitten
« Reply #1 on: June 19, 2008, 16:49:50 PM »
Yet another lady who was taken to be P.T.S today, thankfully vet refused and sent owner to me.

Kitten is 10 years old and was adopted as an 8 week old kitten; her owner assures me she has had the best of everything and only ever needed to go to the vet once and that was to be spayed; she has received regular worming from pet shop annually last done about a year ago,and she has never had fleas,  never needed vaccinations, he hadnt even noticed that she is sneezing. She didnt need grooming either short haired and just bum a bit matted. You can see from her obesity that she has thrived on Go cat Dry. Because the owner was so caring I broke with tradition and asked for the £30 he would have spent on euthanasia to put towards the cost of her vaccinations and treatment she needs, I am shocked he gave it to me.

Anyway shes a lovely girl understandably very scared at present and is called Kitten; must try and find a better name that sounds similar.

I think she is about to find out what proper care is.
