One of the most important things needed in rescue is having a good vet that you trust implicitly, sounds like Rob will do nicely.

I went back to this group tonight and caught an impressive pair of Toms. They're in my shed tonight and will be dropped off first thing for the snip. They are spraying the place like that Cuprinol advert! 

It would have taken half the time to catch them but one of the residents insisted on 'helping' and kept scaring the cats off. How do you tell well meaning busy-bodies to f*** off? 

I'm sure that my female will be okay. Rob is sorting her and he's my hero. He treats all my ferals just like pedigrees and she'll have the best of everything to help her recover.

You do wonder if desperation makes them go for the trap, or some instinct about the person who has put it there...

Aww, the poor baby, i am glad she allowed herself to be trapped, fingers crossed for a good recovery.

Sometimes I think that it is the poorly ones that go for the trap first because they are so desperate for help.

Went out trapping today. 

We were asked by a housing association to TNR a bunch of strays living on their property. The people there feed them but there have been kittens and no one wants the group to grow. So off I went like a good little bunny and caught a lovely female aged around 2. Pretty little B&W with such unusual markings.

The vet called me about an hour later to say it was a complicated surgery and the poor girl had an infected uterus.  He has managed to remove the worst of it and pumped her full of meds. She will stay with him to recover and be fed up a bit.

I couldn't help thinking this is one lucky girl that she went for the trap first. I shudder to think what would have happened if she's been too long like that.
