Lyla used to have fights with the "other" cat, not so much anymore as I think she has realised its herself
Oh sorry what was that Lyla, it couldnt be another cat as there is no other cat as pretty as you

I always hold my cats up infront of the mirror....they tend to look at what is going on in reverse not their reflection!

Excellent video!
One of our family cats used to go mad - would spend ages arching its back and growling, then running to the side and looking around the back.
Dinah just stares at herself...

None of mine show an interest in mirrors , but Jerry has an obsession with the dishwasher atm , keeps jumping up at it! We think it may be the red on light , as he goes nuts for the kitty laser and it looks quite similar!

Charlie ignores mirrors mostly but will stare at his reflection in my kitchen cupboard doors for ages.

Pinball only needs to see his reflection whether it's in a mirror, the window or on smooth plastic and he goes nuts attacking it
This video has been on Purrs before and is of his older sister when she was a kitten doing exactly the same thing Pinball does

I quite often hold the boys up to the mirror when I'm cuddling them but it's like they can't even make eye contact with themselves , they won't even look in it!

How weird. I was out with Julie today checking out a
feral
stray colony and we discussed the exact same thing
- I said Kylie doesn't react but alice tries to look at herself in anything reflective. Julie said some kittens react, some even get freaked and others ignore it.

How do your cats react to mirrors?
Previously none of my cats seem to have been aware of their reflections, but my new kitten (he was going to be called Neep but we finally decided on Genghis!) is fascinated by his.
