You can never replace a furbabe who you have had the privilege of being owned by........................but you can give a loving home to one(or two!) who desperately need it!!

Gizzy and Jerry could never replace Oscar , but they are little darlings in their own right and I'm sure that somewhere Oscar is looking on and purring!

Beavis was obviously lonely after we lost Oscar , and he has in general been fine with the new boys , even cuddling up on one occasion.

Honey and Twinkle may need some time to accept a new kitty , but I am sure they will be quite happy with a new friend to play with eventually

Ive just been to the supermarket and treated Twinkle to a new cat toy, cat milk and whiskas temptations

She looks really sad today (or am I imagining it??) she is following me around everywhere I go which is unlike her she normally only does this when she's hungry

In reply to Yvonne I don't know if I'll get another cat, I could'nt ever replace Star, but on the other hand Twinkle seems so lonley as she has always had Star to play with, sleep with and she was always grooming her! The only other problem is I have Honey my 3 year old labarador who is really soft- the kittens took a while to get used to her and now they are fine with her (sorry -Twinkle is fine with her) so how would a new kitten/cat cope?

I can't imagine how you must be feeling at the moment and I'm sure Twinkle is just as sad and confused as to where her sister is. She will be looking to you for comfort and suport as much as you are to her. Cats (even little ones) are very sensitive to human grief and she will want to make you happy again ... let her! Tell her how much you love her and explain to her that her sister will be watching her from the bridge and remember kitten fur is great for soaking up tears.

Perhaps Twinkle was there with her to comfort her when she went to the Bridge. Poor baby.

Hi again everyone I've just got back from work and Twinkle is all over me wanting cuddles and her neck tickling!

Just reading all your kind words has made me cry again, I don't think I'll ever get over the loss of Star but I have to try to be strong and be the best cat mummy I can to Twinkle

Its making me really sad as Twinkle keeps looking for her....I don't think she realises that Star isn't coming back

I am so so sorry for you loss. It will get easier but it will take time, the best times are when you think of her and smile at all the funny things and even at the naughty things she did. like peeing on the floor or sctatching the wallpaper, they are just trivial.

I just hope she didn't suffer, thats what really upsets me- that she was in pain and I didn't help her I feel really guilty
