Have no advice sorry but taken to be pts for spraying! Why do some people get cats  :censored:

Good on you for saving the day, well lifetime really  ;)

I have babies and cats and my cats never spray and never have. They do tend to act more like babies though lol

They'd all been together for a long time, so are used to each other though I have to say RW is a pain in the bum! He terrorises Keli and picks fights with his brother, that the reason why i'm buying the cat trees so that they have escape routes from each other.

Urine analysis will be arranged tomorrow, especially in Z's case as I want him tested for kidney problems and diabetes. When he wees its copious, dilute and quite frequent. He also occasionally eats the clay type cat litter which I remember is a possible symptom of kidney problems.

I have on idea what they ate before, but like you say it was very likely junk food...i 've got them on the PAH senior biccies (the ones with cranberry) and Felix AGAIL. RW will eat the RC S/O to my surprise (hes a really finicky little sod)

RW started widdling when Kit was introduced, so am hoping that if i work on removing 'strange kitty' smells within the house he'll calm down, but will have him to the vet as well ( thats a trial in itself as hes a lousy traveller)

is there anything I can use that will remove a cats scenting marks from items?...... i have vinegar, bio washing powder, simple solution, Anti icky poo, washing up liquid. As I understand it removing the fatty component is the key....

I remember now  ;D

Upping the resources sounds like a good idea. Had she had them all together for a long time or was one newly introduced, possible they dont like each other?

Have they had urine analysis? If she fed them all rubbish dry food its possible they could have crystals.

They are lucky to have you, so many people arent willing to work with spraying issues

One other thing i would try as a last resort is to seperate one off to a boarding cattery and see if a balance is found, sometimes cats just dont want to share  :(

here's the original thread:
http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,13917.0.html

The safe bet is that they were all ignored for the most part. They had been spraying the new babies cot and pram etc. so were taken to the vets for PTS, when Lesley and I stepped in....

Part of me suspects that this wasn't just a stress reaction, but them trying to say 'notice me' to their old owners, so i'm trying positive re-inforcement, though they do occasionally get a short sharp NO if caught in the act, but as soon as I stand up they will stop it immediately.

I'm currently upping thier resources quota, they have biscuits in 3 positions in the house, 5 litter trays (all tailored to their tastes) am looking to buy 3 cat trees (in addition to the small scratching posts they have at the moment) so they can get high up and out of each others way, I've bought a blacklight for detecting urine so i can really clean up (along with the Anti icky poo)......

I'm hoping that as the smell of Kit diminishes and I keep up with a strict cleaning regime I can knock this on the head. but it's stress on top of stress for me ATM, what with money problems and clashes with the inlaws i'm not in a good place and I know this can transfer to the cats but until the money situation is solved i'm utterly stuck.....

I'm wondering if my guys are partially the same, they will occasionaly do it right in front of me -as if any reaction is better than nothing. Thats the thing though, they get plenty of attention, someone is usually in the house most of the time.
I know the guys were all ignored in thier previous house, but until Kit arrived (he has now had to go to Lesley due to this issue and my father in laws stinking attitude) there was no problem....
If I could see a light at the end of the tunnel i'd keep going, but really can't see any end but being made to re-home them 'cos of my father-in-laws smallmindedness (in all things not just this)  :( :(

Not sure what else you can try tbh, but I sympathise greatly, Rolo is the same at the moment, I am just about to post about him, his is mainly attention seeking though, although a urine sample will be sorted.
Please spay your cat

Z's just tried to spray me!

I'm at my wits end with this, they get fuss and love, in fact they're spoilt rotten....but it doesn't seem to ever be enough!

What can i do about this?...If this carries on much longer my father in law will find out (it's his house) and they will be out the door- His dog messes in the house but he has no sense of empathy for other people.

I've got Feliway on the go (for about 3 weeks) and scrub down the areas they spray with washing up liquid and then douse liberally in simple solution. i've just spent £23 on a new urine remover, but trying to spray me has got my goat to say the least!
I've tried the tips on wizz cats but it's not working!

Edited to say- i'm hoping to get Z into the vet on monday as he's displaying pica behavior- possible kidney issues there (at 8yrs old)

What can I do? :(
