We usually have crows chasing ma Macey, she just lays flat. Also the starlings give Lyla a good shouting at because she is a killer.

Sootyca something like that happened here.

My last cat Biggles one day turned up with a baby magpie, unfortunatly dead. After that  he was dive bombed and harrased every time they saw him  until he passed away, obviously must have been the parents.

We have magpies in our monkey puzzle tree every year it seems. What a mess they make on the car.

Our Gandolf used to sun himself on drive (thankfully not a habit our current furries have). Big cat and no pushover our Gandi. In his later years I saw magpies often hop over to him and peck him in the side and he would lazily pick himself up and go into the hedge. Don't like magpies  >:( (not that I'd ever harm one)

Too bad you didn't have the camcorder ready Gillian, but I could picture the scene just as well as you told it... that's quite funny... :evillaugh: (shhh, to the poor tabby though ;)

I remember a few years ago that one of the neighbourhood cats caught a magpie.  Apparently, they mate for life and the mate must have seen it happen.  The poor cat was hounded by this magpie and its offspring for years.  Where-ever the cat went at least one magpie was close by heckling at it.

My goodness and we have so many magpies, poor tabby.

I thought I was gonna have magpie to save cos Sasa was hiding round the corner and a magpie in its normal greedy way was trying to pick things off  the ground under the bird feeders and I was waiting for Sasa to rush at it but think it saw me moving at the window and flew away.

They are such fantastic looking birds seen close up

Magpie stalks cat!

We've had magpies around here for a few months - noisy devils! Theres one in particular who is very aggressive and territorial and seems to be patrolling next door's front garden. This morning I heard that familiar rattling noise they make, and looked out to see a magpie on said front garden, puffing himself up and rattling away like fury, looking towards neighbour's front door. I wondered what all the fuss was about, then suddenly saw the face of a tabby cat, sidling its way from that front door, trying to slope off away from the magpie whilst trying to look nonchalent and 'not bovvered'!

Magpie was having none of it - he followed the cat, still rattling away at him and charged at him if he dared to stop and look round! He followed tabby cat all the way from their front door, around the side of the house, up their drive, until the cat made a bid for freedom up the fence. Magpie was furious now and divebombed poor cat on the fence, until cat disappeared over the other side. Magpie then strode off back to his sentry point on neighbour's garden looking very pleased with himself at having escorted the cat off HIS territory!!  :evillaugh:
