Holly is like that. Except your not allowed to go anywhere near her tummy or she kicks and bites, and she won't allow anyone to pick her up either  she likes a cuddle in her own time though  :)

:-: Lexy has a black chin I just always thought it was bumpy. Vet didn't say anything either. But after reading this, she came to sleep on me while I watched TV and I put my hand over her head and massaged her chin. She fell asleep like that. Never noticed how much she likes it. The massaging of course was me trying to figure out if her chin was bumpy or had blackheads!!! LExy is a one hand cat. If you put two on her she strikes out.

My we Tyler gets that as well. I thought the black spots were from her scratching her chin and the dirt food.

Hot flannel treatment will start tomoro

You can get Hibiscrub from most chemists (although it is usually cheaper online).  I actually got mine from ebay - alot cheaper ...

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/__hibi-Scrub_W0QQ_nkwZhibiQ20scrubQQQ5ftrksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em283QQLHQ5fIncludeSIFZ1

AND

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/_W0QQLHQ5fIncludeSIFZ1QQ_fromZR46?_nkw=hibiscrub&_fromfsb=0&_trksid=m270.l1313

It's wonderful stuff and you only need a tiny bit as it goes a long way.

Try the human chemist or vetuk, your own vet will charge way over the odds for it

:naughty: :naughty: He'll get used to it.  I wash all my lot's chins at least once a week (it's amazing how grubby they are).

Feline acne .... Zephyr get's it and he loves having the warm flannel treatment :)  So much so it has become part of the regular routine.

Likewise here too and I'm using stainless and ceramic bowls

Silvie gets that sometimes too - I had always just assumed that it was food.  I have always used stainless steel bowls for her, so it can't be that that's causing it for Silvie.
Don't know how she'd feel about the wet flannel treatment but I'll certainly try it next time!

I was told that feline acne can be caused by the cat's chin rubbing on a plastic feeding bowl and for this reason to use only stainless steel or ceramic bowls.  If that's not the case, I imagine someone will be along shortly to correct me!!  :)

Sounds like feline acne, try holding a flannel soaked on hot water over the chin to open the pores up and then gently rub the chin with the flannel  to get the blackheads out.

woops, i posted just after you there. I'll try that.  :thanks:

There's what looks like black dirt under Taco's chin. At first, we tried to wipe it off with a damp cloth but that didn't work. Then we thought it may be flea dirt, so we used stronghold on him. It's still there and i'm at a loss as to what it is.
Molly had a simular situation a couple of months ago, we used stronghold on her and the dirt dissapeared, her chin hasn't got any 'dirt' on it anymore.

Anyone know what it may be?
