Thats really fantastic news - hope he keeps creating the red blood cells ( not really any knowledge of this ) and they go right up even more and he gets better -such a gorgeous boy.
I am sure he is loving his heatpad ( gone a bit cooler now in Lincolnshire) and enjoying all his food and chicken ,

Fabes red blood cell levels - sorry I can't remember the proper title - are still only 11.5%, normal is 30%. He was 9% on Monday and dropped to 7% on Tuesday.

The vet felt that he was starting to create his own red blood cells which is always better than putting other blood in and so decided I could take the two of them home.

I had some electricians round this morning and just as they were leaving Fabes sneaked out the front door!!! I've never seen him move so quick, the blokes said thay couldn't believe how ill he was as he moved so fast.

He's now got a brand spanking new cat bed with a heat pad which he has snoozed in this afternoon. I also bought them all a roast chicken and Fabes scoffed loads - I even hand fed him! This is the first time ever I have managed to get him to eat anything other than dry food. He has also been eating wet renal food in the hospital - me and the vet were amazed! Hmmm do you think he was trying to make a show of me

I'm so pleased and relieved to read this Candice. I hardly dared look at this thread today but what fab news.

I hope Fabes manages to gain in strength with each coming day...poor little chap.

Foofoo is really missing the boys, its the first time she's been on her own and is being extremely vocal. Its as if she's calling for them

I should find out this morning what's going on, my main priority is to get both of my lads home asap.

It's so frustrating not knowing and probably really hard for poor Sol too. I'm sure Foofs is probably confuddled and I bet you're not feeling too clever either.

He's still the same and his blood levels have improved to 11% - still only borderline though.

Sol isn't eating that much which is a worry - his bloods have also shown he has slightly elevated calcium levels. The vet seems to think its because he's in the hospital - fingers crossed I really don't want to go through all this again

Fabes will be assessed again in the morning. I've asked for some indication of when I came bring him home

I'm so sorry that Fabes is so unwell and very pleased that he's a bit brighter today and enjoying his heatpad. Really hope that the blood match works out IF that's necessary, and that you and he have some good, gentle and loving purr-times left together

Oh Candice,

Please forgive me I had no idea Fabes was so ill....I saw that he had been shaved a while ago but didn't realise that it was for anything serious...I am so, so sorry. Poor little babe. He's so beautiful too.

Like everyone else here, I am sending all my love and good wishes to you both and hope that your little guy perks up and comes home real soon to be with his family. I just pray that it will be for much longer than you think it might be..It's all too sad.
