Glad things have worked out well, and maybe the fosterer could help a rescue with some cats this year?
Please spay your cat

Well this thread has become a bit of a moot point as we've had the fantastic news that Trixie the pixies mummy has already found a job and accomodation  (how did she do it, I must find out her secret) and is ready to take her with her!
Will be sorry to see her go as she really is gorgeous, but will suggest that her meowmy sends updates or even better joins Purrs so we can all keep up with her!
So happy endings all round!  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

What a stunner! I can see why you're getting attached, Koscha. :)

Good plan, though. It's difficult when you feel an overwhelming desire to protect a cat that isn't yours.

The good thing is that as you are a link between fosterer and real mummy if you do not think it is working out with fosterer you can always say real mummy has now found a place and go get Trixie.  If things do seem to be going okay, then Trixie has a nice tenporary home, your attachment is distant and when Trixie's real mum gets settled you do not have the heartbreak of parting with her. :Luv2:  Don't worry I get attached to every kitty that comes in, why do you think we have 25, but even I know that I can't keep them all - though Persia is staying  :innocent:

I am getting attached.......there i've said it! i'll post piccies in a bit (if the phone plays ball and you'll see why).
I've decided to give this lady a chance with Trixie (though I don't doubt that she'll adore her just as much)I'll stick to my original plan to 'pop round and say hello from time to time'.

If Z was here it would have been sooooo much easier to decide, but he must come first (and RW and Keli of course)  :-[

Just need to find a time when both of us are around so I can drop her off......

Thanks guys

Koscha, it is really difficult but it does sound like you're getting way too attached already. (I've been doing the same thing with Noni who we knew from the start was going to be a foster. I'll always be her "other mummy" though! :Luv:)

Do you really think the fosterer would ignore advice or are you trying to justify Trixie staying? (I can understand that entirely, by the way!)

Thats the thing the fosterer is a new one who has experience of cats but not fostering. Yes I will admit that Trixie is worming her way into my heart, but I know she is not my cat, I specifically call myself 'auntie' not mummy and know that her real mummy misses her terribly.

I know your cat has gone missing and is that the reason you want Trixie to stay with you?

How long would she stay, would you be acting as a fosterer and will it be OK still when your boy comes home?

If you can answer all these with the right answers then its easy, you just tell the fosterer that you have decided that you are able to care for Trixie until she gets a home/forever and hope she doesnt mind but your cat is missing and thise little one is helping to ease the pain.

My only warning would be ............ if you are that fond of her now, will you be able to part with her when a home comes along? If the fosterer is someone who has extensive experience with fostering, then I have a lurking suspicion your reluctance may be based on the fact that Trixie Pixie is worming her way into your heart, your hearth and your home .... They have habit of doing that, you know...

Should Trixie stay here or go to her potential fosterer?
She's the loveliest little thing so dainty. i've taken to calling her trixie pixie 'cos shes got such an elven face!
Thing is i'm not sure about the fosterer......shes hard to get hold of and granted she loves cats (I don't doubt it) but she may cause problems by feeding her too much rich food and I also get the impression any advice I give will be ignored.

Arrggghhhh.......
Advice please and if I'm gonna turn the fosterer down how do I do it gently? She's got links to my OH's friends and if this goes wrong it will cause serious problems.
