Two months is nothing ... I'm sure it took about that long for Bertie and Bella to get used to each other.  Today I found all three of mine sleeping in a row on the bed - not the first time they've slept on the bed together but usually there are quite big gaps in between, and today they were a maximum of six inches away from each other!  And it's been 10 months since I took Minnie in ...  ;D

Having 2 cats that don't really get along it's encouraging to see that if I give it time they may do so. Had them 2 months and even though Henry relaxed around Charley he unrelaxed when Charley started pouncing on him trying to play.

Can't see them jumping on my bed for a long long time though, Henry tried coming in for snuggles and was promptly chased out by Charley (who then sat by door guarding his room for hours, he fell asleep blocking door)

Mine snuggle up together, they look so content when they are asleep...then one wakes up, wakes another up etc etc and WWIII breaks out!  :evillaugh:

Glad they are coming round!  ;)

Aww, glad they are gettig on better - I have had cats that live together without liking each other, I have only had two cats that would sleep near each other, and that was cos Snowy would plonk herself next to Ginger as if to say 'I want to sit with you, so you can iether stay or go' - he stayed most of hte time.
Please spay your cat

I know what you mean ... I'd love for my lot to all snuggle up with each other.  As least now the ice has been broken with your furries I'm sure they will realise the benefits of having a furry friend give you a wash and scrub up  :evillaugh:

Keep us posted on how it goes.

This is the thing Sam, they are all independent and mostly happy but now that I've seen Minnie and Bella licking each other, I have visions of a perfect little feline family all snuggled up together  :evillaugh:

Foxy and Zephyr are brother and sister (6 years old) and have NEVER snuggled up together.  Zephyr lets Foxy wash him occasionally but NEVER returns the favour!.  Foxy tries to be friends with Rossi but Rossi doesn't really want to know ... so basically I have 3 cats that all live independently but happily together.

Has anyone else had cats that haven't got along for months or even years and have then become friends?  I'm really wondering how long until I give up hope of Minnie and Bertie ever being buddies ...

oh how wonderful .... so glad the girls are getting along OK.  I'm sure it won't be long before all 3 of them snuggle up.

Breakthrough with Minnie and Bella
« Reply #1 on: April 18, 2008, 18:59:08 PM »
As you know, I adopted Minnie last June and already had Bertie and Bella, who have been together for almost three years.  It started off with Minnie being aggressive towards Bertie and Bella, then she seemed to want to make friends but they turned on her and we had a couple of fights.  Then I tried Feliway and things calmed down to the point where they will all sleep on the bed within a few feet of each other, but if either of the others gets too close to Minnie, we have hissing and growling.

This morning when I woke up, I could feel movement at the end of the bed and when I looked, Minnie and Bella were washing each other!   ;D  I'm so pleased that my girls are making friends at last  :Luv2:  Just a shame that when Bertie came upstairs, he chased Minnie under the bed  :evillaugh:  But Bertie is actually the most relaxed and adaptable of the three, so maybe now that Minxie and Bella are getting along, he might start making friends with her too?
