Hi.

I think he's getting better.

He's keeping food down and has his appetite back.

He even jumped on my lap last night and stood up to put his paws round my neck in a sort of cuddle.

Was very sweet and made me smile as I was feeling quite sad at the time.

Thank you for asking.

I haven't had any luck getting Clapton to eat any renal food but feeding him Felix & Whiskas senior now as it is about 30% lower phosphorus than regular. He seems to be doing well on that + fortekor, although he was in early stages when he was diagnosed.

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

yes.

Every renal food going. Wet and dried. He wouldn't eat any of them.

Have resorted to low phosphorus foods with added phosphate binders.

Hoping he will like this new tuna one.

Have you tried Tiffy with Specific Renal Food?

Max has turned his nose up at just about everything else, but that he will eat.  Its a pate food in an alu-tray, and its nowhere near as dry as the other stuff seems to be.

Might be worth a go if you've already tried it.

I've also ordered a few of the tuna pouches, see if my boy will like them.

Haven't got that tuna renal food yet. Its on order.

Tiffy hasn't liked any of the specialist renal diets so far.

He's better today though and is eating again so hope he continues to improve.

Thanks for all you're kind thoughts

How's Tiffy? Did he like the renal tuna food? I blend it into a smooth soup for mine, but after an initial excitement I think they prefer the chicken.  Maybe best to stay with i/d or similar if he's vomiting though. It's not that high in phosphorus acc to Hills and perhaps you could add a binder for a bit (maybe once his tummy's settled). Don't think renal food's the most appetising to be honest, on the bad days.

My CRF cat Tiffy is ill again.

He vomited loads yesterday and hasn't eaten since. Have tried different foods and so far...nothing.

I feel horrible as I have had to go to work today and really felt like I needed to stay with him this morning.

So going to go to vets to get some felotidine to combat the nausea and give him some sub cut fluids and syringe feed him if necessary.

Have heard about some new tuna renal food from royal canin and have ordered a little to see if he will like it. Lets hope so.

Please everyone keep fingers crossed.
