Good games

Misa and Sasa love their IKEA tent and a long peacock feather and they will jump and pounce on the feather and who ever is quickest rushes inside the tent where it swishes around the outside. Sasa will then lie on her back and box the feather from inside the tent and also Misa but he is the right way up 

When it zooms past the opening , they will bat and catch and hook the feather in

Max loves pouncing on his feather on a stick when I put in under the rug in the lounge and wiggle it about, that's hours of fun guaranteed    He goes into full hunt mode, crouching down, then wiggling his bum....and he's off like a loon again 

Yes!!  The stick under the mat - we call it 'sticky carpet'!  All three of mine absolutely love the game, and Sabby asks to play it by shoving his front legs under the edge of the playmat and miaowing at me!  (I have a cheap ragrug that 'belongs' to the cats to play on/in/under/around).  Do be careful of eyes, though!

The other game is 'fetch'!  Two of my three will play this until they are entirely exhausted (but usually I give up way before they do!).  Keep an eye out for spongy, bouncy balls the size of ping pong balls - I got them from my local garden centre, and keep having to return to get more! If you're patient, cats will sometimes twig that if they bring the ball back to you you will throw it again immediately!  My little Meesha now responds to 'where's your ball?' by hunting for, and finding a ball and bringing it to me!    That's all part of the game

I've just been on the Argos site and have seen the tunnel and the ball pit. They look great. There is a tunnel with four tunnels but I think it is a bit big for my apartment. I don't want people to think I am totally loopy! But I am going to buy the tunnel and the ball pit. Riley and Digby love their smaller tunnel so a combination will be even more fun.

I got the kids one from Argos. Linda has that one for the benglies too. It's fab and is about 5 foot I think.

Tpepaul, Where did you get the 5 foot play tunnel? We have a 3 foot one which the boys love, but I having a longer one would be even better.

The boys favourite game at the moment involves a voile (or net curtain type material).  I drape it over their favourite toys and tuck the edges under, they then have to 'fight' the voile to get the toys underneath. They normally fight it so furiously that they end up skidding along the carpet pushing the voile.  When that's finished I flap it out and let it float down encapsulating them in it and they fight their way out

We have a play tunnel that all 3 can't leave alone. Not so much a game for us WITH them, but they take it in turns to hide inside it and spring out as another passes, or jump into the hole in the top onto the one inside. It's about 5 feet long and we got it for the bunnies, but the rabbits don't get a look in!! The cats just seem to love tearing through it and pouncing on one another from it whenever we get it out!

When I use the Da Bird I dangle it over their Fat Boy scratching post and they like launching at it and climbing around the post to grab the bird.

We do that with sheepmousey as well

Digby and Riley both love a feather on a stick too, but I use it with a piece of corrugated paper/board and they get totally into it. They have chewed and torn holes in it to get to the feather. They also love to chase each other up and down the stairs when I have gone to bed and then use my bed as 'safety'. It's quite funny until I'm just about asleep and one of them lands on my chest!

My Charley loves to pass a ball back and forth, he sits in his box I roll ball to him and he bats it back with his paw.

No matter what I do though his favourite game will always be "pounce on Henry"

I am wondering if any of you have any good games you play with your cats.  Charlie's fave game is an agility course of seven cardboard boxes placed all round the dining room, lounge and hallway.  We then get Da Mouse out and way to go he loves it.  He jumps over and into the boxes, some of them are stuffed with paper and he has to furtle inside to get the mouse.  It keeps him active and tires him out.  I would love to hear of any games your cats enjoy that I can try out with Charlie boy.
