if mum is comfy and the kittens feeding I would not rush off to the vet, but I would keep a very close eye on her, and her interactions with the kittens and if she is showing any signs of discomfort or stress or apathy then off to the vet quick-smart.

First one in the car/ up to the room at 7-30pm, second one was there after I had finished my tea (so about 8-00 for 8-30 ) and second for 9 9-30).

What time was the third kitten born?

My cat had two close together then a gap of six hours and then another two were born.

Is mum happy and are the kittens feeding?

Good luck and keep us posted.

If she seems comfortable it is possible there are no more, but I would usually have a queen to the vet for a post-partum inspection just in case. If there are more, she may simply be taking a break in between labour. If she is still straining then the odds are in favour of more kittens. Also remember that a queen can have multiple simultaneous litters so may have a break between delivering them. It is far too complex to sort out by internet, better to have the vet to check.

We're still at three babies and mum cat is settled and eating well but is still quite fat.
On reading my book (yes lets worry after the event), it says if you think she hs more kittens get her to a vet asap.

So how would I know? She still seems quite solid around the middle - is this normal?
