He likes the M/D but not too keen on the RC  :evillaugh:

You would never know he was sick the way he was running about and telling the dogs off  :evillaugh:

I bumped into Caroline in the vets - It's about the 3rd time we have bumped into each other there  :evillaugh: She was picking up diabetic food for Charlie - The VN said it is the most palatable (I beg to differ) - I am going over there late morning tomorrow after taking Felice to the vet so will post pics when I get back  ;D

No problem - I hope  :scared:. Sharn said she isn't at all friendly and won't come out of the kennel bit when anyone is there.

Charilie is coming home to our fosterers today, after being on insulin all weekend he has stablised. He will be on injections for a week then re test bloods next week to see if we can try to treat his condition diet wise.

Poor Caroline our lovely fosterers now had Ticco (who has terminal cancer)
Old body Teddy (just lost all his teeth)
now Charlie
Plus her own cats, 2 dogs and a family.

Sorry no news as yet on Charlie although i did get a short email from the vets to say he had a good weekend.. ! With luck this puss problems can be sorted via diet and not injections.. But we still dont have a clue where he can go (i.e what fosterer is free)! ..

When i do know more i will putting a plea out for Charlie as from our last encounter with diabetic cats, they dont do well in rescue situations and the sooner we get this mite into a loving home the better...Unforunately, pretty soon we are going (no doubt) be in kitten season again and Charlie will get left on the shelf (so to speak)....

Thanks for your thoughts though

Charlie sounds like a survivor, he's been through a lot already and is still fighting.

Just had an update. Bloods are no different but he seems a lovely puss so will be on insulin over the weekend. with a update on Monday. Vet thinks we should try this option first as he is a very laid back puss, his condition may be controllable via diet rather then insulin.

However we are all very cautious here as our last diabetic cat Cleo didnt do at all well in a rescue situation (we had to move her a few times due to fosterers being away and we couldnt put her in a pen). We only managed to keep her going for a few months before she just gave up and went downhill really fast.

Anyhow lets hope that Charlie turns out to be a real figher and has alot more left in him yet!

Lets hope they can help him. If he survived against the odds, there has to be a chance for him with good food, a warm bed and treatment  :)
