It is normal for new cats not to eat too much, and especially when they aren't in best condition. If she is eating something, that is the main thing.
Please spay your cat

ok. back from vets.

She is negative to FIV and FELV.

First Vaccinations done.

She has a hole in one tooth and some gingivitis. Will need that tooth removing sadly.

Only just seen this and she is stunning  ;D

I think a napping mission could be on

I reckon once she has calmed down and settled she will start groomin g again cos she will find that she can do it now without hurting.

I bet she does some during the night when she is not being watched  ;D

Im a little worried that so far she hasnt been grooming herself.

Is that probably due to being stressed and having so many matts ?

Here are pics with the matted fur rolled up in a ball to show how bad it was.

She is loads happier now and purrs each time I give her a fuss.

Gorgeous

She has 2 areas of skin showing and 2 small wounds where the mats had pulled so hard they ripped the skin away.

Ok done a bit more.

Got some thinning scissors and matt shears and they work really well.

Still the underbelly and just under the chin to do.

She seems more comfortable. I think I have got rid of the ones that were causing pain.

She even purred and rolled over. Then growled when I went to pick her up again.

typical lady.

Thank you.

My logical brain says - she is scared. in a new place. having mats removed which must be painful. new smells. other cats. thats why..

My emotional brain says - Help....She attacked me. What if she doesnt like the others. what if.........

Its crazy isnt it.

oh its very early days (I remember you getting Maddy! you never thought they would get on!)  poor girl must be scared and if she is having mats removed a bit sore as well, give her time and she'll recognise she is in a good place - good luck!

She's scared.

I got her purring this morning but then went to get some more mats out and she went for me.

So sadly had to clip her claws to reduce the risk of injury to me.

Just off to get a special dematting thing I saw in the pet shop.

Poor thing.

I really dont know how this will turn out. My other cats seem on edge. I hope I have done the right thing.

I know its really early days. Maddy lashed out at me big time when I first rescued her when she found herself cornered.

Really shocked me as she was so timid.

Cats dont understand do they you are trying to do your best for them.

Helen from UKRCC has contacted me.

I'm hoping to go and visit at least. If OK with her current owner, I will take her into my care and sort out any mats in her coat.

Then we can take it from there. She will be welcomed by my ragdoll gang.

Glad to be of help.

Delphi is approx 7 years old (precise age unknown). She was adopted by her current owner when she was abandoned at a boarding cattery.

Delphi is neutered and generally healthy, but is un vaccinated. Her coat is very matted.

She is used to having access to secure garden.

Delphi has had a very sad life, being re homed on at least two occasions, to date, so we are seeking to find her a loving home, with a family who are willing to make a life long commitment to her. We are hoping to be able to arrange a visit to Delphi and assess the condition of her coat. If necessary, we shall bring her into foster care.

If you feel you can give Delphi, a loving, forever home, then please complete our on line form at www.ukrcc.co.uk
