More cats to worry about

He is a lot better now Nic, it took 2 people and very thick gloves to get him to bring to me (and we both still got scratched).

Desley is right Garfield does get a little erratic when trying to pick him up. Now he's fine being picked up providing there's no pet carrier around. He proved difficult to capture last night on his (last jabs for a year) vet visit. He's been sulking all day too!

I have told Nigel he should get it looked at but he wont.  He says it is improving cos now he can move his fingers!!!!!  I so hope they can be trapped and neutered and homed as even if feral I think they are young enough to be domesticated.  The little black and white one let me touch it gently on the head but did flinch but it was overcome by hunger.  I was trying to entice it indoors to keep it safe until we could either locate an owner or get a rescue to take it but some neighbours went by making a noise and it retreated.  I wish I could be less emotional about these things but I think I am still too raw from Dragan that the slightest thing sets me off!

I hope you are going to keep an eye on the bites, cat bites can be nasty. Felix (garfield) turned very nasty when we tried to catch him, and yet he is very loving, so they might change once in a home environment. Good luck with CP.

It was more than just a bite Des it was horribly vicious, I never saw a cat so vicious.  Nigel's hand is so swollen you can't see the knuckle and it took a huge piece of flesh with it.  They are absolutely terrified of humans, the black and white one was actually trembling.  It was also very very hungry

We know most of the neighbour's cats but of course they could be from the alcoholic lady's house.  Trouble is she wont open her door nor respond to notes.  I am just worried they are out in this freezing cold, they are only babies (not tiny ones but still babies) and they are venturing onto a busy road. 

I am waiting to hear from the local CP and in the meantime will try and engage with the woman in question but as far as we know all hers are now done save for one male

I would speak to your local CP, but just cos one was picked up and bit doesn't mean it isn't totally socialised, not all cats like being picked up. Do you know for certain they aren't neighbours cats?

Thought exactly the same myself Gill, I will have to find their number and ring them.  I am also worrying as they could be carrying anything and Charlie isn't vaccinated.  Guess I am just worrying full stop.

Well youir daughters neighbour doesnt sound like much help to Cp or the cats to me but there must be someone who at Cp who could loan you atrap.

Why dont you speak to then yourself?

Daughter's neighbour not much help, says there isn't much she can do really as the traps are too heavy for her and she keeps getting phone calls from all over reporting ferals!  We don't know for sure that these are ferals.  Where do you go to for help I wonder?  These are only youngsters and I am getting sooo stressed worrying about them

It now seems there may be three of these youngsters roving round.  My neighbour saw two last night, the tabby and white one and a ginger one.  The black and white one hasn't been back since to my knowledge.  My daughter has a neighbour who is involved with CPL and is going to talk to her about trying to trap them.  I am so concerned as it is cold at night and we have two busy roads close by.

Well I have left a message on our local CPL answerphone to see if they can help because if it isn't caught soon it will be killed on the roads.

Totally unsocialised but I am not aware of any feral colonoies hereabouts plus it is immaculate.

Well the little black and white one has been cowering in my front garden.  So Nigel and Pat my neighbours and I fed it and tried to entice it into my house in order that we could keep it safe and try and locate its owner or CPL.  However when Nigel grabbed it it bit two big chunks out of his hand, really serious bites and obviously he dropped it and it has run off.  I can't say I am not worried about it though and have left some food out.  Totally unsocialised but I am not aware of any feral colonoies hereabouts plus it is immaculate.

Why do I wish I could be harder???  I wont sleep a wink tonight worrying about the little mite.  It jumped out of its skin everytime a car went past.

I know I hate to see any cats trying to cross any roads or walking near them.

Earlier on my neighbour and I were going shopping in my car.  We saw two small  young cats out and about that we had never seen round our area before.  However one of them was tentatively trying to cross a busy road!  We couldn't stop cos of the traffic but luckily it decided against it and went back onto the pavement.  why do people let such young cats out and about near busy roads?
