My little Gwynnie's breeder has a poorly kitten and it seems their vet has no idea whats been causing it. The little fella is only 4 weeks old, one of two in the litter and both kittens have been coming on it leaps and bounds, feeding well, lively, etc. On Sunday he was fine in the morning but by the afternoon he started staggering and became almost comatose, was rushed to emergency vet and given antibiotic, something else maybe antin inflam?, can't remember exactly, anyway vet didnt hold out much hope as temp had dropped really low.
They took him home and he just lay practically comatose for hours, but then seemed to come out of it and get completely back to normal - sighs of relief all round...until yesterday, when exactly same thing happened, one minute fine, the next barely alive, shallow breathing, not responsive. Again the vet who saw him the other day and their regular vet have no idea whats causing this, and the kitten seemed to recover again and is now playing, eating etc as normal - so anyway though I'd ask on here if anyones's had any experience of this in very young kittens and any ideas about what it might be?
Oh, meant to say - they've been breeding cats for about 20 yrs and never come across anything like this before.
