It really was horrible watching him leaping up the gate and clawing at it but not being able to grip onto anything. He was so spooked by William who is such a friendly little fella. I  just had visions of Freddie running for the hills and Aslan's RTA came straight to mind.  Anyway, all over now :shify:.  Cheers all.

Phew!  I bet your heart was in your mouth.  Glad he escaped with nothing more than a scratch.

Can imagine how panicky you must have been feeling. Poor Freddie, I am sure you are right and he will think twice about getting over the gate again :scared:

Bad day for Freddie

Me and OH were stopped by elderly neighbour and her lovely William (Tibetan Spaniel, very small and sweet tempered) on way out about 4pm and started chatting about the loss of William's sister Poppitt a couple of weeks ago, very sad :'(

All of a sudden Freddie comes clambering over back gate squeaking coz he heard his ma and came running to me only to be confronted by William who really loves cats so terrified Freddie turns on his back paw and goes hurtling back to jump up gate followed by William trying to say hello but Billy was on top of back gate as he was following Freddie (disappeared back quick enough) and Freddie lost his rhythm and tried jumping up gate but was too close and he couldn't make it so came running towards his ma whilst his ma was shouting at OH to "get William by the collar" but OH just stood there >:(

I shouted at William and he ran away a few yards.  I had visions of Freddie running past me towards the road where Aslan was killed last year but bless his heart he just cowered near front doorwaiting to be let inside.  It was horrible. Quickly scooped him up and inside house and cuddled and cuddled.

Anyway went out a while later and when came back, Freddie has a little scratch on his nose? Bummer of a day for our fluffy boy BUT (always looking for the silver lining) his fluffiness may just think twice about climbing the back gate again?  He is of course completely chilled out on sofa now as if he doesn't have a care in the world.
