Maybe a window was open?

Not in this cold weather.  Anyway if I have a window open it is only open less than 2 inches and locked open at that so cannot be opened any more. Also the toy is not one I have ever seen before.

I used to hear my Renie's meow after she passed, made me think I was going crazy  :shy: About a week later a cat started visiting to eat the food I left out for the strays and she was identical to Renie (I thought the men in white coats were going to come for me) I found out later this cat was my Ollie bongas mum, Renie's aunt  :)

Do you have a cat flap?

No and even if I had the kitchen door is closed, the hall door is closed and the little bedroom door was closed yet open this morning.

Crikey that is strange Ela if you were wide awake,

I was definitely awake we had only just gone to bed although Stuart had dropped off almost immediately, I never do and how did the toy mouse get on the middle of our bedroom floor. Although I say it myself the bedroom is neat and tidy and nothing on the floor apart from the carpet and a duck door stop.

Crikey that is strange Ela if you were wide awake,  it's really odd how these things happen.  Byron still sometimes goes - between 10 and 10.30 sniffing the area by the TV where Schui used to do a crafty poo  :shify:

Went to bed about midnight and Stuart dropped off immediately but as I was laying there I heard a noise like a cat in a litter tray, (as I am sure many of you know I lost my last cat last week, although the small bedroom is still left as a cat room so I can take in any emergencies and the litter tray is the otherside of the wall near my bed, any then I heard scratching like a cat scratching at a door trying to get out. Now that door is usually open so cats can have the run of upstairs, but yesterday for the first time in years I closed it.  this continued intermittently for quite a time. Then I must have dropped off. This morning I got up and in the middle of our bedroom floor is a cat mouse toy I have never seen before.
